Striving to overcome difficulties and achieve many outstanding achievements
Speaking at the Congress, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, said that in the past term, the city's culture, sports and tourism sector has experienced many challenges, especially the serious impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, global economic fluctuations, and pressure to transform the growth model.
However, thanks to the close direction of the City Party Committee and city leaders at all levels, the effective coordination of departments, localities, enterprises and the spirit of solidarity and creativity of all Party members, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, the sector has achieved many important achievements in both Party building work and implementation of political tasks.
Pillar fields such as culture, sports and tourism all recorded strong recovery, contributing positively to the sustainable development of the city and improving the quality of life for people.
During the 2020-2025 term, the three newly merged Party Committees, namely the Party Committee of the Department of Culture and Sports, the Party Committee of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City and the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam Province, have achieved many comprehensive results, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by the city's leaders and people.
The work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage continues to receive strong investment. Many relics have been restored, intangible heritage records have been established and proposed for recognition, and traditional cultural teaching and performance activities have spread throughout the community.
Cultural and artistic events such as the International Fireworks Festival, Asian Film Festival, activities on both banks of the Han River... are organized in a rich and quality manner, contributing to affirming Da Nang as a destination for events and festivals.
In the field of sports, the movement to improve health among the people has been expanded. High-performance sports have achieved many results in national and international tournaments, especially in strong sports such as athletics, martial arts, swimming, and bodybuilding. Many athletes from Da Nang have competed excellently at the SEA Games, Para Games, etc.
Regarding tourism, the industry has recovered quickly after the pandemic thanks to effective stimulus policies and creative, flexible approaches. The image of "Da Nang - Asia's leading festival and event destination" continues to be affirmed. New products, such as green tourism, night tourism, MICE tourism... are developed, along with technology applications such as digital maps, consulting chatbots, virtual reality experiences.
Press, information and publishing activities have also seen many positive changes. The press in the city basically complies with legal regulations, contributing to effectively propagating policies and promoting the city's image. External information work continues to be promoted, bringing the image of Da Nang closer to international friends.
Party building work is given comprehensive attention, in terms of political ideology, organization, ethics and cadres. Party activities are carried out seriously; internal discipline is maintained; the Party membership is strengthened in both quantity and quality.
Three breakthrough tasks in the new term
In the period of 2025-2030, the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City identified 3 breakthrough tasks, including: One is to develop culture - society synchronously, closely linked, harmoniously and on par with economic development, build a city rich in identity, improve people's lives; focus on developing the cultural industry; Preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage, especially heritage recognized by UNESCO, national cultural relics.
Second is to enhance the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in all fields of the industry, serving the creation, development, improvement of productivity, quality and efficiency in all fields. Focus on developing mass sports to achieve the goal of improving health and physical strength for all classes of people to build and protect the Fatherland and homeland. Innovate and develop high-performance sports in a practical and effective manner.
Third is to develop high-quality tourism and services, associated with international-class resort real estate and “green tourism” synchronously throughout the city, forming an international-class coastal resort tourism center, promoting the development of high-class, green, smart, eco-tourism, community tourism, sightseeing, entertainment, organizing international conferences, festival events; striving to maintain a double-digit tourism growth rate.
Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, affirmed: "The entire Party Committee will continue to strive to excellently complete the assigned tasks, with a spirit of solidarity, creativity and aspiration to develop the culture, sports and tourism industry strongly and sustainably."
Towards building a city rich in identity
At the Congress, the decision of the Standing Committee of the City People's Committee Party Committee on the establishment of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City was announced. 15 comrades were appointed to the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, term I, 2025-2030.
Comrade Truong Thi Hong Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, term 1, 2025-2030.
Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi suggested that the entire industry should focus on strategic, breakthrough solutions with a long-term vision to develop the city's culture, sports and tourism in a sustainable and worthy manner.
The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee highly appreciated the results achieved by the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and agreed with the 9 targets, 3 breakthrough tasks and 14 key solution groups for the 2025-2030 term.
She suggested that the entire culture, sports and tourism sector continue to raise awareness, clearly identify existing problems and challenges to have stronger solutions. In particular, it is necessary to focus on advising the city to effectively implement the work of developing culture, sports and tourism in a synchronous, cohesive and harmonious manner with socio-economic development; forming a city with rich identity, rich cultural life, quality tourism services, creating an international mark.
The 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, term 2025-2030, is not only an important political event for the industry, but also opens up new expectations in the process of building Da Nang into a city rich in identity, modern, green and the most livable in the region.
The Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City currently has a total of 477 party members, operating in 22 party cells and party committees.
