VHO - On the afternoon of July 18th, the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City solemnly held its first delegate congress for the 2025-2030 term.

The congress took place in a solemn atmosphere, with the motto: "Unity - Solidarity - Shared Direction - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Green and Sustainable Development".

Speaking at the Congress, the Party Secretary and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, said that during the past term, the city's culture, sports and tourism sector has faced many challenges, especially the serious impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, global economic fluctuations, and the pressure to transform the growth model.

However, thanks to the close guidance of the City Party Committee and city leaders at all levels, the effective coordination of departments, localities, businesses, and the spirit of unity and creativity of all Party members, officials, civil servants, and workers, the sector has achieved many important accomplishments in both Party building and the implementation of political tasks.

Key sectors such as culture, sports , and tourism have all shown strong recovery, making positive contributions to the city's sustainable development and improving the quality of life for its residents.

During the 2020-2025 term, the three newly merged Party Committees – the Party Committee of the Department of Culture and Sports, the Party Committee of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, and the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam Province – achieved many comprehensive results, which were recognized and highly appreciated by the city's leaders and the people.

Efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage continue to receive strong investment. Many historical sites have been restored, intangible heritage dossiers have been compiled and proposed for recognition, and the teaching and performance of traditional culture are spreading throughout the community.

Cultural and artistic events such as the International Fireworks Festival, the Asian Film Festival, and activities along both banks of the Han River are organized in a rich and high-quality manner, contributing to affirming Da Nang as a destination for events and festivals.

In the field of sports, the movement for physical fitness among the people has expanded. High-performance sports have achieved many results at national and international competitions, especially in strong disciplines such as athletics, martial arts, swimming, and bodybuilding. Many Da Nang athletes have performed excellently at the SEA Games, Para Games, etc.

In terms of tourism, the industry has recovered quickly after the pandemic thanks to effective stimulus policies and innovative, flexible approaches. The image of "Da Nang - Asia's leading destination for festivals and events" continues to be affirmed. New products, such as green tourism, night tourism, and MICE tourism, have been developed, along with the application of technology such as digital maps, chatbot consultants, and virtual reality experiences.

Journalism, information, and publishing activities have also seen many positive changes. The press in the city generally complies with legal regulations, contributing effectively to the dissemination of policies and promoting the city's image. External communication efforts continue to be strengthened, bringing Da Nang's image closer to international friends.

Party building work has been comprehensively focused on political ideology, organization, ethics, and personnel. Party activities have been conducted seriously; internal discipline has been maintained; and the Party membership has been strengthened in both quantity and quality.

Three breakthrough tasks in the new term.

For the period 2025-2030, the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City has identified three breakthrough tasks, including: Firstly, developing culture and society in a comprehensive manner, closely linked, harmonious, and on par with economic development, building a city rich in identity, and improving the lives of its people; focusing on developing the cultural industry; and secondly, preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, especially heritage recognized by UNESCO and national-level cultural relics.

Secondly, we must strengthen the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation across all sectors of the industry, serving to create, develop, and improve productivity, quality, and efficiency in all fields. Focus on developing mass sports to achieve the goal of strengthening and improving the health and physical fitness of all segments of the population in order to build and protect the Fatherland and the homeland. Innovate and develop high-performance sports in a substantive and effective manner.

Thirdly, the plan aims to develop high-quality tourism and services, linked to world-class resort real estate and "green tourism" in a coordinated manner throughout the city, forming a world-class beach resort tourism center, promoting the development of high-end, green, and smart community and eco-tourism, sightseeing, entertainment, and organizing international conferences, events, and festivals; and striving to maintain double-digit tourism growth.

Towards building a city rich in identity.

At the Congress, the decision of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on the establishment of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City was announced. Fifteen comrades were appointed to the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, term I, 2025-2030.

Comrade Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, has been appointed to the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City for the first term, 2025-2030.

In her directive speech at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested that the entire sector focus on strategic, breakthrough solutions with a long-term vision to develop the city's culture, sports, and tourism in a sustainable and appropriate manner.

The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee highly appreciated the results achieved by the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and agreed with the 9 targets, 3 breakthrough tasks and 14 key solution groups for the 2025-2030 term.

She suggested that the entire Culture, Sports and Tourism sector continue to raise awareness, clearly identify existing shortcomings and challenges in order to find stronger solutions. In particular, it is necessary to focus on advising the city to effectively implement the development of culture, sports and tourism in a synchronized, integrated, and harmonious manner with socio-economic development; creating a city rich in identity, with a vibrant cultural life, high-quality tourism services, and an international impact.

The Party Committee of the Da Nang City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism currently has a total of 477 party members, organized into 22 branches and sub-branches.
