Ba Thuoc with many breakthrough solutions

After more than 3 years of implementing the Resolution of the 23rd District Party Congress, term 2020-2025, Ba Thuoc has achieved many outstanding results in all fields, thereby creating rapid and sustainable development.

According to Pham Dinh Minh, Secretary of the Ba Thuoc District Party Committee: After more than three years of implementing the Party Congress resolution, the socio -economic development in the district continues to maintain its growth momentum, the economic structure is shifting in the right direction, increasing the proportion of industry and services, and decreasing the proportion of agriculture, with an average annual growth rate of production value estimated at 3.85%. Agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production is moving towards improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of products. Total grain production averages over 37,800 tons/year (the Party Congress resolution target was 35,000 tons/year). Industrial and construction production has grown significantly; the urbanization rate reached 9.7%; 100% of villages and hamlets have access to the national power grid. The service and trade sectors have developed, with annual export value reaching 8.5 million USD.

In particular, tourism has been a bright spot in the district's economic development in recent years, especially the Pu Luong tourist area, which has emerged on the map of eco-tourism and community tourism in Vietnam; the number of tourists visiting the district each year exceeds 130,000, with estimated revenue of 200 billion VND. The mobilization of investment capital for socio-economic development averages 1,844 billion VND per year (exceeding the provincial plan). Investment attraction has yielded many positive results; since the beginning of the term, 10 direct investment projects by businesses have been approved by the province with a total capital of 4,273 billion VND, including many large projects such as: the Ba Thuoc Shoe Factory project in Canh Nang town; the OSBsatBoo Thanh Hoa bamboo panel factory in Thiet Ong commune; and the Dien Trung Industrial Cluster, which has commenced construction and is completing its technical infrastructure to attract investors. The development of enterprises and cooperatives in the district has received significant leadership and guidance. To date, there are 228 enterprises and 32 cooperatives, creating jobs for thousands of local workers.

The program "Developing agriculture in conjunction with the new rural development program and tourism development" continues to receive attention. The district has established concentrated, specialized production areas; livestock farming is concentrated and linked with businesses. Along with this, the district focuses on developing products with potential and advantages to serve tourism and the market. At the same time, the district has identified products with potential and advantages for development. The district has over 1,038 hectares of fruit trees; and continues to develop the Co Lung duck, grass-fed pig, wild boar, Ri chicken, and catfish to meet market demand. To date, the district has 10 OCOP products; established one project for cultivating specialty glutinous rice on a scale of 31 hectares; and has two recognized traditional craft villages.

Along with that, the district has promoted the improvement of the investment and business environment, focusing on administrative procedure reform; and actively implemented solutions to improve the district-level competitiveness index. In 2023, the district's DDCI index ranked 13th, an increase of 14 places compared to 2021. The district also fulfilled its commitments to investors regarding land clearance progress. In addition, infrastructure development has been strengthened in a synchronized manner. The district has called on investors to develop socio-economic infrastructure; prioritizing budget allocation for investment in important and essential infrastructure projects. Many infrastructure projects that play a crucial role in the district's socio-economic development have been and are being invested in, such as: the bypass road of provincial road 512B through Pho Doan market (Lung Niem commune); the central bridge of Canh Nang town; the embankment to prevent erosion along the Ma River; and transportation routes from the district center to the communes...

In the coming period, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Ba Thuoc district will continue to work together, enhance the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee, and leverage the strength of the political system and the entire population to effectively implement the key tasks and solutions set forth in the Resolution of the 23rd Party Congress of Ba Thuoc district, term 2020-2025.
