Several bottles of kerosene were thrown into the fire to make it burn brighter. Suddenly, one bottle was thrown in and bounced away, causing the fire to spread to the children standing about 3-5 meters away.

At noon on September 30, leaders of the Thuong Tin District People's Committee announced that three children aged 10-12 who suffered burns had been taken to the National Burn Hospital.

Burning lion heads during the Mid-Autumn Festival is a tradition of the people of Van Binh commune.
