Northern Vietnam experiences severe cold weather.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on February 8th, a cold front affected the Northeast and some areas of the Northwest, causing scattered rain and showers, with thunderstorms in some places. It is forecast that during the day and night of February 8th, the cold front will continue to expand its influence to other areas in the Northwest, North Central, and Central regions.

Inland, the northeast wind will remain at level 3, and level 3-4 in coastal areas. From February 8th to the morning of February 9th, Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam will experience rain, showers, and thunderstorms in some areas; the weather will turn cold, with severe cold in mountainous regions.

During this cold spell, the lowest temperatures in Northern Vietnam will generally be 10–13 degrees Celsius, 7–10 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and in some high mountainous regions, temperatures may drop below 3 degrees Celsius.

In the North Central region, the lowest temperatures are generally 12–15 degrees Celsius. Specifically in Hanoi , there will be rain and showers during the day and night of February 8th, and from the afternoon of February 8th to February 9th, the weather will be very cold, with the lowest temperatures ranging from 10–12 degrees Celsius.

Northern Vietnam is experiencing a severe cold spell, with frost in mountainous areas.

At sea, scattered showers and thunderstorms are currently occurring in the eastern part of the South China Sea. Strong gusts of wind (level 7) were recorded at Co To station, while gusts of wind (level 6) were recorded at Bach Long Vy and Hon Dau stations.

The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that the northern South China Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) will experience strong northeasterly winds of force 7, gusting to force 8-9; in the northeastern part of the sea, winds may occasionally reach force 8, gusting to force 9-10, with rough seas and waves 4-6 meters high.

In the Gulf of Tonkin, winds will gradually strengthen to force 6-7, gusting to force 8-9, with waves 2-4m high. In the sea areas from southern Quang Tri to Dak Lak, from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau , and the central and southern parts of the East Sea, northeasterly winds will be force 6, sometimes force 7, gusting to force 8-9, with rough seas and waves 3-5m high.

The meteorological agency warns that from February 8th to 9th, rain, moderate rain, and locally heavy rain with thunderstorms are expected from Ha Tinh to Da Nang and the eastern parts of provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai; during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. High mountainous areas in Northern Vietnam should be wary of frost and snowfall.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. High mountainous areas should be wary of frost. The lowest temperature will be 11-14°C, with some high mountainous areas below 5°C. The highest temperature will be 18-21°C, with some areas exceeding 21°C.

The northeastern region will be cloudy with scattered rain and showers, and thunderstorms in some areas. Northeast winds will be at level 3, and level 3-4 along the coast. It will be cold, with intensely cold weather in the afternoon and evening, and some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. High mountainous areas should be wary of frost. The provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue will be mostly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in the north; in the south, there will be rain, moderate rain, and locally heavy rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Winds will be from the north to northwest at level 2-3, and level 3-4 along the coast. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms . In the north, the weather will turn cold in the afternoon and evening, with some areas experiencing severe cold. Minimum temperatures will be 12-15°C in the north and 17-19°C in the south. Maximum temperatures will be 21-24°C in the north and 24-26°C in the south.

The South Central Coastal region will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms; the northern part will be mostly cloudy in the afternoon and evening with rain, moderate rain, and locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. Northeast winds will be at level 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. The lowest temperature will be 21-24°C. The highest temperature will be 27-30°C.

The Central Highlands will be cloudy with sunny days and scattered showers at night. Light winds. Lowest temperature 18-21°C. Highest temperature 27-30°C.

Southern Vietnam will be cloudy with sunny days and no rain at night. Winds will be from the northeast to east , force 2-3. The lowest temperature will be 21-24°C. The highest temperature will be 30-33°C, with some areas exceeding 33°C.

Ho Chi Minh City will be cloudy, with no rain at night and sunny during the day. Winds will be from the northeast to east , at speeds of 2-3. The lowest temperature will be 22-24°C. The highest temperature will be 29-31°C.
