AFF Cup 2024 group stage format
The 10 teams participating in the AFF Cup 2024 (ASEAN Cup) are divided into 2 groups (5 teams each) to compete in a round robin to calculate ranking points. In the event that 2 teams (or more) have the same number of points, the position will be determined by the following sub-indices in order of priority: Goal difference, total goals, head-to-head results (points, goal difference, total goals in direct matches).
In case the teams are equal in all the above indexes, the organizers will hold a penalty shootout (if 2 teams with equal points meet in the last round, compete for a place in the semi-finals) or draw lots.
