According to Sport , Ter Stegen is expected to continue as Barcelona's number one goalkeeper next season, while Szczesny will be rotated in cup competitions. However, Barcelona is also looking for a long-term and reliable solution for this position in the future.
Sporting Director Deco highly regards the talent of Leo Roman (Mallorca). The 24-year-old goalkeeper has attracted the attention of the club's management after impressive performances against Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga this season.

Deco suggested the idea of signing Roman to coach Hansi Flick and received his approval. Roman's contract with Mallorca expires in 2026, with a release clause worth €12 million. However, Barcelona are considering an offer in the range of €7 to €8 million.
The Catalan club highly values Roman's potential and the possibility of generating future profit if they sell the goalkeeper. Barcelona's plan is quite clear: sign Roman this summer and loan him to a La Liga team for the 2025/26 season. Szczesny will take on a backup role at Camp Nou.
As they prepare for the future, Barcelona hopes to find a talented goalkeeper to succeed the likes of Ter Stegen or Szczesny.
