The sun gradually rose, the muddy road began to dry up, rocky outcrops. Everyone was sweating. After about 1 hour of walking, we also arrived at the macadamia plantation of the Northwest Macadamia Development and Investment Joint Stock Company. But without Ms. Nga's guidance, it would be difficult to realize that this is the area where macadamia trees are grown because the grass is overgrown to cover the macadamia tree. In many places, the barbed wire fence system that protects and divides the boundary between the road and the macadamia plantation has been broken and tilted. Even the entrance gate was completely damaged, falling on the side of the drainage ditch. Going deep into the macadamia plantation area, we saw that many people's cattle were left free, causing many macadamia trees to fall or even die. Through discussions with commune cadastral officials, we learned that this macadamia area was planted from 2018 to 2019, so many trees have produced fortune-telling results. But due to lack of care, the tree grows and develops slowly, the amount of fruit is very small.
Concerned about hundreds of hectares of abandoned macadamia trees, we returned to the headquarters of the People's Committee of Sen Thuong Commune to discuss with the commune leaders. Receiving us, Mr. Chang Pha Gia, Chairman of Sen Thuong Commune People's Committee said: Currently, in the commune, there are more than 300ha of macadamia nuts belonging to the Northwest Macadamia Development and Investment Joint Stock Company in 2 villages: Chieu Horn. and Sen Thuong. According to the approved plan, the total area of macadamia plantation in the commune is 1.000 ha, in Sen Thuong, Chieu Horn and Long San villages. The company also offered a support level for reclamation of 15 million VND/ha, so the villagers all agreed. Up to now, the Company has supported each copy 400 million VND in advance; 3 copies received a total amount of 1,2 billion. However, the area of macadamia trees that has been planted for more than a year, the company did not care and take care of. In the macadamia plantation area, there are no workers to take care of it, but only one person to take care of it, causing a large number of dead and broken trees and overgrown grass.
As for the people of Sen Thuong and Chieu Horn villages, who should have been happy to receive the results after many days of waiting, are now losing faith in this "million-dollar tree" project.
Mr. Chang Chuy Ca, Head of Sen Thuong village said: The village has 144 households, about 1.500 people. At the time of implementing the project of planting macadamia trees, they received 400 million VND, divided equally among households. Now the Macadamia Company does not take care of it anymore, so it is very wasteful to leave it like that, so our wish is to get the land back for the community to cultivate other crops.
Looking at hundreds of hectares of promising macadamia trees being "forgotten", we can't help but feel pity and regret for the efforts of construction, the hope of the government and local people as well as the investment money of Company. If the macadamia garden continues to be left unattended and left to nature, it is inevitable that the macadamia tree will not grow, fall, or even be "erased".
According to the planning, the project of planting high-tech macadamia in Muong Nhe district was approved by the Provincial People's Committee with an investment policy of 10.105 hectares in 11/11 communes. The investor plans to plant on the land leased by the State, the remaining 7.105ha, in association with the people, to plant 3.000ha of macadamia nut. However, up to now, the project has encountered many difficulties and obstacles that need more drastic involvement of local authorities as well as investors.

With the potential and advantages of Muong Nhe, it has a large area of natural land, a rather large area of unforested forest land. After being approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment policy, the project's scale is 10.105ha. . However, until now, Tay Bac Macadamia Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has only implemented the project in the district, reaching 4,5% of the approved scale. Before the implementation progress is very slow, in 2022 the District People's Committee has twice invited the Company to work to discuss solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles in the process of project implementation. However, Tay Bac Macadamia Investment and Development Joint Stock Company "has not been able to arrange time and work" to work with the district.
In view of the actual situation of implementing the investor's hi-tech macadamia plantation project in the district, especially in order to effectively implement Resolution 04/NQ-HU dated May 19, 5 of the Executive Board, During the implementation of the district Party Committee on sustainable forestry economic development for the period of 2021 - 2021, the People's Committee of Muong Nhe district proposed the Provincial People's Committee and departments and agencies to consider adjusting the investment scale of the hi-tech macadamia plantation project. in Muong Nhe district in accordance with the actual situation. In which, Muong Nhe adjusted the scale of high-tech macadamia plantation project in the area from 2025ha in 10.105 communes to 11ha in 2.389,83 communes. In which, Sin Thau 3 ha, Sen Thuong 1.138,4 ha and Leng Su Sin 945,87 ha. At the same time, investors need to coordinate more closely to remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of project implementation.
