On March 10th, South Korean media reported that Kim Bada was becoming the focus of attention after being arrested by police on drug-related charges.
According to a statement from the Sokcho Police Department (Gangwon Province), the singer was arrested on March 9th on suspicion of violating the Drug Control Act. He is accused of possessing and using marijuana at a location in downtown Sokcho at approximately 8:30 PM on March 8th. During questioning, Kim Bada reportedly admitted to the act.

Police said they had been monitoring the case for about two months before making the arrest and are considering requesting a detention order for the singer.
Born in 1971, Kim Bada (real name Kim Jung Nam) is widely known as the lead vocalist of the legendary rock band Sinawe from the mid-1990s. After leaving the group in 1999, he continued his musical career with several other bands such as Butterfly Effect and Art of Parties, while also pursuing solo projects.
In addition to music, Kim Bada has appeared on many popular television shows such as Immortal Songs and King of Mask Singer thanks to her powerful voice and distinctive performance style.
Before the scandal broke, the singer was scheduled to perform at the Seoul Hero Rock Festival 2026 in April in Seoul. However, following the incident, his appearance at the event has become uncertain.
