Blessed with favorable natural conditions, Ben Ba Chi has a large area dedicated to fruit tree cultivation, especially mangoes. Starting from a gardening cooperative, in 2017, the local government encouraged farmers to participate and established the Ben Ba Chi Agricultural Service Cooperative to link production and create high-quality mangoes to meet market demands. Mr. Bui Van Quy, Director of the Ben Ba Chi Agricultural Service Cooperative, stated that the cooperative primarily grows Hong Van and Cat mango varieties for domestic consumption and export to China, South Korea, Thailand, and other countries. The cooperative collaborates with local authorities and relevant agencies to provide advice, transfer scientific and technical knowledge, supply materials, facilitate access to loans for members, and find markets, ensuring comprehensive economic and livelihood benefits for its members. Cooperative members adhere to safe production processes according to VietGAP or GlobalGAP standards, ensuring mangoes have an attractive appearance, meet biosafety standards, and are free from fertilizer and pesticide residues.

Regularly participating in scientific seminars and technical training courses on fruit tree cultivation organized by the local authorities and specialized agencies, Mr. Bui Minh Quoc - a member of the Ben Ba Chi Agricultural Service Cooperative - said that joining the cooperative brings many benefits to farmers. Members receive support in production techniques and market information. The cooperative links with businesses to sign export contracts for mangoes at high prices, helping members have a stable market and feel secure in developing production. Mr. Quoc said: “Having a stable market makes us happy. Linking with mango export businesses with strict standards for quality and appearance requires members to continuously learn and update new production techniques…”
In the early days of 2026, the mango harvest was in full swing at the orchards of members of the Ben Ba Chi Agricultural Service Cooperative. Despite unfavorable weather and a slightly lower yield compared to previous years, the members were still enthusiastic because the mangoes fetched good prices and continued to have a stable market, especially for export to foreign markets. Mr. Dat said that mangoes for the Tet market were mainly grown out of season, making cultivation more difficult. This season, heavy rains during the flowering treatment significantly reduced yields, with production only about 30% of the average for previous years. However, prices were higher; specifically, Hong Van mangoes for export were priced at 60,000 VND/kg, and Cat mangoes at around 50,000 VND/kg. At these prices, farmers were able to cover their production costs.
Thanks to its innovative and flexible approach to production and business, the Ben Ba Chi Agricultural Service Cooperative has become one of the cooperatives developing sustainable cooperative economics. According to Thach Van Loi, Chairman of the Ba Chuc Commune Farmers' Association, the Ben Ba Chi Agricultural Service Cooperative contributes to helping farmers link production, increase the value of agricultural products, and stabilize their income.
In the coming period, the commune's Farmers' Association and local authorities will continue to support and create favorable conditions for the sustainable development of the cooperative. At the same time, they will research and replicate the cooperative model throughout the area to promote agricultural economic development in a linked, efficient, and sustainable manner.
