After Brentford rejected their initial offer of around £55 million for Mbeumo, the Old Trafford club returned with a new bid of £60 million.
MU's advantage is that Mbeumo is also willing to come to Old Trafford to play, even without the opportunity to play in European competitions next season. He rejected offers from Arsenal, Chelsea, or Newcastle to wait for MU.
However, MU also faces difficulties if they sign Mbeumo. The reason is that the striker will have to be absent from Old Trafford for a period of time to play in the CAN (African Cup of Nations).
