According to Tomshardware , Google is testing a feature that allows users to change their @gmail addresses. This is good news for those who are stuck with old email addresses, which are used to log in to Google services like YouTube.
Currently, the feature is being tested in India, and there has been no official announcement regarding when it will be rolled out globally. Google says users will see this option appear gradually, meaning widespread adoption remains to be seen.
Previously, if users wanted a different email address, they had to create a new Google account or use solutions within Google Workspace.
With this new experiment, each account will have two @gmail addresses, allowing users to receive emails from both inboxes without affecting existing data such as Drive or Photos.

Google's feature allowing users to change their @gmail address is currently only being tested in India.
However, after changing the address, users will not be able to register another Gmail address for the same account for 12 months.
To check if your account is eligible to change its Gmail address, you can go to my.account.google.com/google-account-email, select "Personal Information," and find the option "Change email address for Google account."
If this option is not available, it means the account is not yet included in the beta testing phase.
Google hasn't officially announced the feature yet, so details may change in the future as the company rolls it out more widely.
