Hanoi – A 7-year-old girl fell and tore her perineum, resulting in a three-centimeter-long wound that was inflamed, red, and infected.

The family said the child had her wound stitched up at a medical facility. However, the wound did not heal, and she had to be transferred to Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for treatment.

On February 9th, Dr. Le Thi Anh Dao, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department A5, stated that the left vulva had a three-centimeter-long non-healing tear with redness and inflammation. The doctor diagnosed it as a perineal suture rupture, requiring hospitalization for treatment.

The team provided care, removed the perineal sutures, administered antibiotics, and then performed surgery to address the injury and create a cosmetic appearance. However, because the child was so young, the doctors had to encourage and reassure her throughout the entire surgical process.

Currently, the wound is not infected, and the child's health is stable.

Doctors warn that children are naturally active, curious, and love to explore , making them prone to accidents. Parents need to keep a close eye on their children, care for them, and supervise them to create a safe play environment.
