Effective support
Over the past period, the Tam Hai Commune Youth Union has focused on accompanying and supporting young people in starting businesses, establishing careers, and developing the economy . Besides guiding business ideas, the Youth Union actively connects with resources, creating conditions for young people to quickly access capital with preferential interest rates. At the same time, it supports and guides them in completing the necessary documents and procedures to establish and operate cooperatives effectively.
A prime example is the oyster farming model of Mr. Huynh Nguyen Thanh Chung (Long Thanh Dong village). Starting on a small scale, by 2024, Mr. Chung received advice and support from the commune's Youth Union to access a capital of 500 million VND from the City Cooperative Union and 100 million VND from the Social Policy Bank. Thanks to this, the model expanded to 30 rafts, with an investment cost of approximately 12 million VND per raft. Currently, the model provides a stable income of 40-50 million VND per month and creates jobs for 4 local workers.
The University of Education ( Da Nang University) has also continuously promoted activities to support student entrepreneurship, creating a favorable environment for young people to develop their creativity and proactively establish themselves and their careers. The university has implemented many programs to advise, connect, and equip students with skills from idea generation to practical implementation, gradually forming an entrepreneurial ecosystem among students.
A highlight was the recent series of workshops titled “UED Innovation Pathways: From Knowledge to Product,” designed for specific fields and linked to practical needs. In the tourism and culture theme, students were guided on how to leverage cultural identity to develop products, from storytelling and experience design to the application of digital technology in tourism.
The technology-environment-biology theme focuses on the journey of transforming scientific ideas into products, helping learners understand the process from research and prototyping to refinement, expansion, and commercialization. Meanwhile, the educational entrepreneurship theme opens up perspectives on the EdTech market, analyzing learner needs, testing models in the classroom, and building solutions with market potential.
Through this series of activities, students not only gain access to foundational knowledge but also connect with experts and businesses, gradually enhancing their innovative capabilities and entrepreneurial mindset.

Creating a startup ecosystem
Since the beginning of the year, the Da Nang Youth Union has proactively implemented many activities to support young people in starting businesses and developing the economy. Training courses on business skills, digital transformation in startups, and the application of technology in production and business have been organized regularly. Simultaneously, the Youth Union's information channels and digital platforms continue to be effective in introducing exemplary youth economic models, spreading stories of successful startups, and inspiring the spirit of self-reliance and entrepreneurship among young people.
Youth Union branches at all levels throughout the city have also actively implemented many practical activities related to career counseling and job placement, gradually meeting the needs of young people in the new context. The entire city organized 110 activities to encourage Youth Union members and young people to propose ideas and initiatives, recording over 10,200 ideas focusing on areas such as digital transformation, creative entrepreneurship, administrative reform, and environmental protection.
Youth Union branches effectively supported young people in accessing preferential loan capital, with approximately 200 young people receiving loans and a total outstanding balance of nearly 30 billion VND; they also accompanied and supported the development of 120 innovative startup ideas and projects. Career counseling, guidance, and business networking were strengthened, providing advice to over 21,500 young people and job placements for 10,800 young people.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Toan, Director of the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center, said that to empower young entrepreneurs, promoting linkages between schools, research institutes, and businesses, and connecting research with practical applications, is being implemented in an increasingly substantive and effective manner. A prominent example is the "three-party" ecosystem model, which is gradually expanding to a "four-party" model, in which businesses play a central role in addressing practical problems; schools and research institutes participate in co-creation; and the State plays a facilitating and coordinating role.
This is considered a crucial platform that helps young people's startup ideas gain practical experience, refine, and develop into products. In addition, intermediary organizations such as innovation centers and technology transfer offices in universities and colleges are being formed and developed, contributing to connecting technology supply and demand, supporting students and young people in perfecting their ideas, and gradually commercializing research results.
Many practical support mechanisms have been implemented, such as businesses commissioning research, co-funding R&D activities between the State and businesses, deploying sandbox models to test new technologies, and increasing business participation in the training and incubation of startups.
Furthermore, incubation and acceleration programs for startups in schools, as well as activities connecting technology supply and demand through forums, exhibitions, and innovation events, are being promoted, creating opportunities for young people to access resources and expand their markets. These approaches not only shorten the gap from idea to product but also gradually shift from formal collaboration to specific project-based cooperation, from independent research to co-creation, thereby creating a solid foundation for young people to confidently start their own businesses.
