A "launchpad" for women entrepreneurs.

After nearly eight years of implementing the Project to Support Women's Entrepreneurship in the period 2017-2025 (Project 939), the women's entrepreneurship movement has been spreading strongly.

Through training courses, competitions, and specific support models, thousands of women have been empowered to confidently start and develop businesses, contributing to job creation, increased income, and affirming the role of women in socio-economic development.

Having started her mulberry cultivation and silkworm farming business in 2017, Ms. Riêu Thị Tươi, a Nùng ethnic minority woman from Sình Mây village, Ea Nuôl commune, began with 2 sao (approximately 0.2 hectares) of land for mulberry trees. Thanks to her diligence in learning and applying new techniques, she has now expanded her scale to 2 hectares of mulberry trees, yielding high and stable economic returns.

Throughout her journey, Ms. Tuoi has always received the companionship and support of the local Women's Association. In 2021, the Association provided her with a 20 million VND loan from the startup capital fund to expand production. In 2024, she received another 20 million VND loan to further develop her silkworm farming, invest in silkworm breeds, and improve her farm facilities. With her effective methods, she has risen out of poverty and become a prime example in the local movement of women excelling in economic activities. Currently, on average, after deducting expenses, her family's monthly income exceeds 20 million VND.

The Provincial Women's Union organized a training course on knowledge and skills in digital business for women entrepreneurs in Cu M'gar commune.

Besides developing her family's economy, Ms. Tuoi actively shares her experience and provides technical guidance to other members. In 2022, she established and led a collective mulberry cultivation and silkworm farming model with 5 members. After more than two years of operation, the model has grown to over 40 members, all women in the area, cultivating nearly 40 hectares, contributing to job creation and increased income for many households.

Ms. Tuoi shared: “I always believe that if I can do it, other women can do it too. Thanks to Project 939, I had the opportunity to access capital, science and technology, and confidently expand my model. Now, the joy is not only about escaping poverty but also about developing the economy together with other women, helping each other to rise up.”

As the women's entrepreneurship movement spread widely in the area, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen (Cu Bao ward) boldly registered to participate in the "Women's Entrepreneurship" competition in 2023 organized by the Women's Union of Buon Ho town (formerly).

With the idea of "Community Healthcare Service - Spa Therapy," Ms. Huyen developed a feasible project, focusing on safety, friendliness, and suitability to the actual needs of the people. As a result, her project won second prize, and the Association supported her with a 20 million VND startup loan to implement her idea. "The competition helped me re-evaluate my model scientifically, learn how to create a business plan, manage finances, and approach customers. More importantly, I received great encouragement and support from the women in the Association, which made me more confident in pursuing the path I have chosen," Ms. Huyen shared.

After the competition, Ms. Huyen boldly opened Huyen An Spa in Cu Bao ward. The facility has 4 treatment beds and 2 well-trained technicians, specializing in massage, acupressure, neck and shoulder massage, and health care using wellness methods. Thanks to her dedication and professionalism, Huyen An Spa quickly gained customer trust and maintained a stable clientele.

In implementing Project 939, women's associations at all levels have proactively advised Party committees and authorities to issue plans and integrate activities supporting entrepreneurship with national target programs and the movement "Women actively studying, working creatively, and building happy families".

The Association regularly organizes training courses on scientific transfer in production and livestock farming, enhancing members' knowledge and skills in business planning, management, loan utilization, financial management, digital transformation, and marketing. These courses help members improve their capabilities and confidently build economic models suitable to their specific conditions.

Women members visited and learned about startup products displayed at the 2024 Women's Entrepreneurship Festival.

Simultaneously, the Association has collaborated with banks to establish a Women's Entrepreneurship Support Fund and connect with businesses, helping many women access preferential capital to expand production. In particular, the annual Women's Entrepreneurship Day organized by the Provincial Women's Union has connected businesses owned by women, authors with feasible startup ideas, with departments, agencies, and sponsors, allowing all parties to share information, seek, access, and support resources for women starting businesses. Through this, more than 1,700 women have received support from the Association at all levels to start their businesses, with a total capital exceeding 24 billion VND.

Thanks to Project 939, in many villages, the image of women is no longer associated with toil in the fields, but rather with business owners, cooperative leaders, and community leaders striving for legitimate wealth. Currently, many women's entrepreneurship models in Dak Lak, linked to OCOP products, community tourism, and green, clean, and sustainable agriculture, have become bright spots, contributing to promoting the local image and boosting economic development while preserving ethnic culture.

Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: "Beyond supporting startups, Project 939 has also contributed to changing perceptions, helping women to boldly rise up and be more confident in social life. After the completion of Project 939 for the period 2017-2025, we are in the process of campaigning and proposing further policies to continue supporting women who have already received assistance, while also creating more mechanisms for more women to start their own businesses and production activities."
