Members of the Kim Duong Pagoda's "Soup Kitchen of Love" Club donated meals to patients receiving treatment at the Yen Lac Regional Medical Center.
For over six years, twice a month on Sundays, members of the Binh Xuyen Charitable Hearts Club have been busy preparing charitable meals to deliver to the Vinh Phuc Psychiatric Hospital. Each meal delivered provides timely encouragement, helping patients and their families feel the care of the community. In the otherwise quiet atmosphere of the hospital, the image of volunteers kindly handing out meals and offering words of encouragement creates a warm and intimate atmosphere, giving patients more faith in their treatment.
Mr. Do Manh Tien, Chairman of the Binh Xuyen Charitable Hearts Club, said: "The club currently has over 50 members of various ages and professions, but they all share a common spirit of volunteerism and a desire to share and help those in difficult circumstances. Since its establishment, the club has implemented hundreds of charitable programs, including the 'Kitchen of Compassion' activity, which has been carried out since the beginning thanks to the contributions of members and benevolent individuals and organizations. In addition to financial support, many benefactors also donate essential goods such as rice, fish sauce, salt, meat, and vegetables. Each time, the club cooks 200-250 meals for patients and their families. Based on the received funds and in-kind donations, the club proactively develops menus for meals, ensuring balanced nutrition, suitability to the patients' health conditions, and efficient use of social resources. All stages from receiving, sorting, preserving food to processing are carried out by club members." "We are currently serious and cautious, prioritizing food safety above all else." Although the value of each meal is not large, it represents all the affection and kindness of the club members, who wish to join hands in sharing the difficulties with patients.
It is known that from 2015 to the present, every morning of the week and every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday afternoon, patients at Vinh Phuc Psychiatric Hospital have been provided with free meals. In addition to the support from the Binh Xuyen Charitable Hearts Club, the hospital has received the attention and support of many other charitable clubs in providing free meals to patients, such as: Dong Tam Club; Green Charity Club; Vinh Phuc Heart Connection Club; Yen Lac Heart Connection Club; Vinh Phuc - Phuc Yen Club... From the beginning of 2025 to the present, the total value of the charitable meals provided by these clubs to patients has reached over 700 million VND, not including other donated items.

The free porridge distribution activity is maintained weekly by the Nguyet Duc Charitable Club at Vinh Phuc Rehabilitation Hospital and Yen Lac Regional Health Center.
Sharing the same spirit of compassion, the Nguyet Duc Charitable Club is effectively maintaining its weekly free porridge distribution for patients at the Vinh Phuc Rehabilitation Hospital and the Yen Lac Regional Medical Center. This quiet but meaningful activity has become a practical source of encouragement for many patients undergoing long-term treatment, especially those in difficult circumstances. Sharing about the club's activities, Mr. Tran Quoc Toan - Vice Chairman of the Nguyet Duc Charitable Club, said: “The club maintains a free porridge distribution program every Tuesday at the Vinh Phuc Rehabilitation Hospital and every Thursday at the Yen Lac Regional Medical Center. Each time, the club prepares and distributes 140-170 servings of hot porridge, ensuring sufficient nutrition and suitability for the patients' health. To ensure food safety and hygiene, the club proactively coordinates with the hospital's kitchens in selecting and purchasing food and organizing the cooking of porridge right in the unit's kitchen area. The ingredients are traceable and carefully prepared; the processing strictly adheres to regulations on hygiene and food safety. After completing the processing, club members directly distribute the porridge to each department, ward, or designated area.”
Besides delivering warm bowls of porridge, the club's volunteers also thoughtfully visited, encouraged, and created a warm and friendly atmosphere, helping patients and their families alleviate anxiety during treatment. This dedication and thoughtfulness left a positive impression and earned the recognition and approval of medical staff and patients alike. Receiving a hot bowl of porridge from a club member, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, a patient being treated at the Yen Lac Regional Medical Center, emotionally shared: “Being brought porridge by the club members and having them so kindly inquire about my well-being warmed my heart. The porridge not only helped me feel less hungry but also provided great encouragement, allowing me to focus on my treatment.”
