Betis will do everything to keep Antony

Real Betis have held talks with Manchester United, aiming to keep Antony at the La Liga club.

"We will do everything we can to keep Antony at the club next season," Fajardo told AS. "We are proud of what we achieved by signing Antony and bringing him to Betis. The team will try to have Antony's services next season."

Fajardo expressed his satisfaction with Antony and confirmed that Betis are determined to sign the Brazilian winger on a long-term contract. However, the financial cost of the deal is a major obstacle, especially when the club's dream of playing in the Champions League next season is shattered.

Manchester United value Antony at up to £40m, a fee that is out of reach for the La Liga club. However, Betis hope they can discuss with Manchester United extending the loan deal for another year, or buying back part ownership of the player.

Antony was bought by Manchester United from Ajax for 86 million pounds. Therefore, the "Red Devils" will not ask for a loan term (if any), especially in the context of the Brazilian star shining brightly recently.

Antony, 25, endured a difficult spell at Manchester United but has now shone for Betis. The Brazilian winger has scored eight goals and provided five assists since joining Betis in January.
