Amidst the severe damage caused by Typhoon No. 3, which seriously impacted people's lives, BIDV Tuyen Quang continues to affirm its pioneering role in accompanying and sharing difficulties with the community. The most practical action recently is BIDV Tuyen Quang's program to reduce interest rates by up to 2% for customers affected by Typhoon No. 3.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh, Director of BIDV Tuyen Quang, said that the program is being implemented by BIDV Vietnam from September 20 to December 31, 2024. The total outstanding loan balance subject to interest rate reduction is VND 100,000 billion. Of this, VND 40,000 billion is for existing loans and VND 60,000 billion is for new loans. The maximum interest rate reduction is up to 2% per year, depending on the extent of damage and the loan term of the customer.

Typhoon No. 3 caused serious damage to people, property, and socio-economic infrastructure, significantly impacting the lives and business activities of people and enterprises in many northern provinces and cities. Therefore, BIDV continues to stand alongside, share, and support people and businesses in stabilizing their lives and restoring production and business activities after the storm and floods.

At the same time, the bank also played its role and fulfilled its responsibilities as a State-owned Commercial Bank in implementing the policies and guidelines of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam. BIDV carried out many activities to share with people affected by Typhoon No. 3, including participating in fundraising and donating over 30 billion VND and mobilizing more than 29,000 employees to voluntarily donate one day's salary.

Recognizing the complex flood situation in Tuyen Quang, which is seriously affecting the lives of the people, BIDV Tuyen Quang has quickly taken action to provide support. The bank has donated 1 billion VND to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province, with the desire to join hands with the local government to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster and help flood-affected people quickly stabilize their lives.

BIDV has sponsored equipment for Minh Thanh Secondary School (Son Duong district) worth nearly 2 billion VND.

Beyond just providing relief, BIDV also makes long-term contributions to education. In April 2024, BIDV fully funded Minh Thanh Secondary School (Son Duong district) with nearly 2 billion VND worth of facilities such as desks, chairs, and teaching equipment. This meaningful action helps improve the learning conditions of students in remote areas, providing them with a better learning environment and thus promoting the development of local education.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Minh Thanh Secondary School has nearly 400 students. With the sponsorship of equipment and learning materials from BIDV Tuyen Quang, the school has created favorable conditions for students to attend school. In the new school year, the entire staff, teachers, and students are determined to focus on improving the overall quality of education, building a team of administrators and teachers with a scientific and exemplary work style; being proactive and creative in their work; helping students accumulate knowledge, hone skills, cultivate qualities, nurture passion, and inspire their students.
