According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low pressure area in the East Sea is moving slowly in a West-Northwest direction and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.
It is forecasted that in the coming hours, the Central and Southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago) and the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan will have showers and thunderstorms; in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6 - 7.
To proactively respond to the low pressure area that is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has sent a telegram to coastal provinces and cities requesting close monitoring of warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the low pressure area that is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.
The key task in the coming hours is to inform captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested coastal localities to maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations. At the same time, prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when situations arise.
