According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low-pressure area over the East Sea is moving slowly in a west-northwest direction and has the potential to strengthen into a tropical depression.
Forecasts indicate that the central and southern areas of the South China Sea (including the waters around the Spratly Islands), and the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan will experience showers and thunderstorms in the coming hours; during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind at level 6-7.
To proactively respond to the low-pressure area that has the potential to strengthen into a tropical depression, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has sent a dispatch to coastal provinces and cities requesting them to closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins and the development of the low-pressure area that has the potential to strengthen into a tropical depression.
The main task in the coming hours is to inform captains and owners of vessels operating at sea so that they can proactively take preventive measures and plan their operations accordingly, ensuring the safety of people and property.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested coastal localities to maintain communication to promptly handle adverse situations. At the same time, they should prepare forces and resources to deploy rescue and relief operations when necessary.
