Tonight (November 11), the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department tried to extinguish a fire at a factory of about 5,000 square meters in an alley on Be Van Cam Street, Tan Kieng Ward, District 7.
Because the factory contained many flammable materials, the fire flared up even more fiercely.
Earlier, at around 7pm, a sea of red flames engulfed the factory. Local residents and factory staff tried to put out the fire on the spot but were unsuccessful.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department mobilized about 100 officers, soldiers and many fire fighting vehicles to the scene, approaching the fire from many directions, spraying water on the fire.
By 9 p.m., authorities had basically contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to the surrounding area. Initial reports indicate that the fire did not cause any casualties.
