CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS IN THUA THIEN HUE PROVINCE FROM 1990 TO PRESENT (AFTER THE RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF THUA THIEN HUE PROVINCE ON JULY 1, 1989 ACCORDING TO THE RESOLUTION OF THE 8TH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PASSED AT THE 5TH SESSION).

Period 1990 - 2000 - On September 29, 1990, the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 345/HDBT on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Thua Thien Hue province as follows: + Transfer 08 communes of Hue city to Huong Phu district (including communes Thuy Bang, Thuy Duong, Phu Thuong, Phu Mau, Thuan An, Phu Thanh, Phu Duong, Phu Tan) and transfer 09 communes of Hue city to Huong Dien district (including communes Binh Thanh, Binh Dien, Huong Dien, Huong Ho, Huong An, Huong Vinh, Huong Tho, Huong Phong and Hai Duong ). Hue city has 18 wards and 05 communes left. + Divide Phu Loc district into 2 districts Phu Loc (01 town, 17 communes) and Nam Dong district (9 communes). + Divide Huong Phu district into 2 districts: Huong Thuy (1 town, 11 communes) and Phu Vang district (21 communes). + Divide Huong Dien district into 3 districts: Huong Tra (1 town, 15 communes), Phong Dien (15 communes) and Quang Dien district (10 communes). After adjusting the boundaries, Thua Thien Hue province has 1 city and 8 districts (Hue city, Phong Dien district, Quang Dien, Huong Tra, Huong Thuy, Phu Vang, Phu Loc, A Luoi and Nam Dong). - From April 24, 1991 to April 27, 1991, the 10th Provincial Party Congress (round I) took place in Hue city. Attending the congress were 301 delegates representing nearly 15,000 party members of the Thua Thien Hue Party Committee. - From September 19, 1991 to September 22, 1991, the 10th Provincial Party Congress (round II) took place in Hue city. Attending the congress were 301 delegates representing nearly 15,000 party members of the Thua Thien Hue Party Committee. The Congress elected the Provincial Party Committee for the 1991-1995 term, consisting of 40 comrades. - On September 23, 1991, the Provincial Party Committee held its first meeting to elect the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, consisting of 8 comrades: Vu Thang, Nguyen Khoa Diem, Vo Nguyen Quang, Pham Ba Dien, Phan Van Duong, Ngo Yen Thi, Nguyen Dinh Ngo, and Le Van Hoang. Comrade Vu Thang was elected as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Comrades Nguyen Khoa Diem and Vo Nguyen Quang were elected as Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee. - On July 19, 1992, voters in the entire province participated in the election of deputies to the 9th National Assembly. Thua Thien Hue had 5 candidates elected to the National Assembly. They were comrades: Le Duc Anh, Nguyen Dinh Ngo, Vo Nguyen Quang, Nguyen Khoa Kim Boi, and Venerable Thich Thien Sieu. - On December 11, 1993, the Hue Monuments Complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, opening up new prospects for cultural and tourism development. - On December 20, 1993, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 605/TTg approving the main directions in the master plan for Hue city construction until 2010. - On April 4, 1994, the Prime Minister issued Decree 30/CP establishing Hue University on the basis of reorganizing universities. Hue University has 6 member schools: University of Science, University of Education, University of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Medicine, University of Arts, University of General Studies and Faculty of Economics. - On December 17, 1994, the President decided to confer and posthumously confer the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother to 276 mothers, of which 114 mothers were still living in Thua Thien Hue. - On November 20, 1994, the whole province conducted elections for People's Councils at all levels with good results, with 99.83% of voters going to the polls. - On December 15, 1994, the Provincial People's Council, term III, 1994 - 1999, held its first session. Mr. Ngo Yen Thi was elected Chairman of the People's Council. Mr. Duong Van Trinh was elected Vice Chairman of the People's Council. Mr. Phan Van Duong was elected Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Messrs. Le Van Hoang, Nguyen Van Me, and Le Viet Xe were elected Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee. - On December 30, 1994, President Le Duc Anh signed a decision to award the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the people and armed forces of Hue city. - From May 7 to 10, 1996, the 11th Congress of the Thua Thien Hue Party Committee took place in Hue city. There were 348 delegates representing more than 16,000 party members of 20 party committees directly under the entire provincial Party Committee attending. The Congress elected the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee consisting of 47 comrades. The first meeting of the 11th Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee elected the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee. Comrade Ngo Yen Thi was elected as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. - In November 1999, a historic flood occurred, this was the largest flood ever seen in over 100 years, causing 372 people dead, missing, and 94 injured; The whole province had 139/150 communes, wards and towns deeply flooded, two mountainous districts of Nam Dong and A Luoi and communes in hilly areas were all severely flooded... - On the afternoon of November 13, 1999, at the Central Cultural House, the Provincial Party Committee held a memorial service for compatriots and comrades who sacrificed and died in the flood. - On December 12, 1999, Thua Thien Hue held elections for People's Councils at three levels. - From April 8 to 20, 2000, Hue Festival 2000 - the result of cooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and France took place in the ancient capital of Hue, was a meaningful cultural activity, affirming the national cultural identity, Hue culture and integrating with the advanced culture of the world. ___________________________________________________ Period 2001 - 2010 - From January 2 to 5, 2001, in Hue city, the 12th Provincial Party Congress took place. The congress had 380 delegates attending. The congress elected an Executive Committee of 47 comrades. Comrade Ho Xuan Man was elected as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. - From May 4 to 15, 2002, Hue Festival 2002 took place in Hue. - On November 7, 2003, Hue Royal Court Music was recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage and oral tradition of humanity. - From June 12 to June 20, 2004, Hue Festival 2004 took place in Hue. - From August 5 to August 15, 2004, Hue City held the 6th Phu Dong Sports Festival. 62/64 delegations won medals, the 3 leading delegations were Ho Chi Minh City, Thua Thien Hue, and Hanoi. - From July 15 to 17, 2005, Hue City held the first Traditional Craft Festival. - On August 24, 2005, the Prime Minister issued a Decision to recognize Hue city as a class I urban area under Thua Thien Hue province. - From December 6 to 9, 2005, the 13th Congress of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee took place in Hue city. The Congress elected an Executive Committee of 49 comrades, 13 comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. Comrade Ho Xuan Man, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XII, was elected to continue holding the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XIII. - From June 3 to 11, 2006, Hue held the Hue Festival 2006. - From June 8 to 10, 2007, Hue held the second Traditional Craft Festival. - On June 3, 2008, the People's Committee of Hue city solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision to build Hue city into a Festival city. - From June 3 to 11, 2008, Hue Festival 2008 took place in Hue. - On June 9, 2008, Thua Thien Hue province solemnly held a ceremony to receive the First Class Independence Medal. - On May 25, 2009, the Politburo issued Conclusion 48-KL/TW on the construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province. - From June 12 to 14, 2009, Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2009 took place with the theme "Traditional Crafts - Identity and Development". - On July 31, 2009, Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks were recognized by UNESCO as the first world documentary heritage in Vietnam. - On February 9, 2010, the Government issued Resolution No. 08/NQ-CP on the establishment of Huong Thuy town and the establishment of wards in Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province. - On March 25, 2010, the Government issued Resolution 14/NQ-CP establishing 3 more wards: Huong Long, Thuy Xuan, Thuy Bieu in Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province. - On March 26, 2010, Thua Thien Hue held a rally to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the complete liberation of the homeland and the 50th anniversary of the twinning of Hanoi - Hue - Saigon "from the same tree, from the same family". - On August 21, 2010, at the Provincial Cultural Information Center, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Patriotic Emulation Congress of Thua Thien Hue province took place. - The 14th Congress of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee, term 2010-2015, elected a new Executive Committee of 55 comrades, of which the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee consists of 15 comrades. The entire Thua Thien Hue province had 790,118 voters participating in the election, accounting for 99.99%. - On November 15, 2011, the Government issued Resolution No. 99/NQ-CP on the establishment of Huong Tra town with 16 administrative units, including 7 wards and 9 communes. - From April 7-15, 2012, Hue Festival 2012 took place with the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development - Meeting place of historical cities" and opened the National Tourism Year of the North Central Coast - Hue 2012 - From April 27, 2013 to May 1, 2013, Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2013 took place with the theme: Quintessence of Vietnamese crafts - On May 14, 2014, at the 6th General Conference of the Asia- Pacific Memory of the World Program, the file "Chu Ban of Nguyen Dynasty" was officially listed in the list of Documentary Heritage of the Asia-Pacific Memory of the World Program of UNESCO. - On August 4, 2015, the 4th Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress took place at the Provincial Cultural Information Center. - From October 22-24, 2015, the 15th Congress of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee, term 2015-2020, took place at the Provincial Cultural Information Center. The Congress elected a new Executive Committee of 53 comrades, including 14 comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee. Comrade Le Truong Luu, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term XV, term 2015-2020. - The 9th Hue Festival in 2016 with the theme "710 years of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Thua Thien Hue; Cultural heritage with integration and development" took place from April 29 to May 4, 2016. - On May 19, 2016, at the 7th Conference - Memory of the World Program Committee for Asia-Pacific (MOWCAP), Poetry on Hue Royal Architecture was recognized as a world documentary heritage. - The election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term took place on May 22, 2016. The entire Thua Thien Hue province had 877,939/877,975 voters going to the polls, reaching a rate of 99.996%. The provincial People's Council consists of 53 people; Mr. Le Truong Luu, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term VI, was re-elected as Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term VII, 2016 - 2021. - On June 28, 2016, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province held a ceremony to receive the title of National Green City in 2016 (the first city in Vietnam) organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Up to now, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province has achieved 3 titles: "ASEAN Cultural City", "Environmentally Sustainable City" voted by ASEAN in 2014 and the title "National Green City in 2016". - From March 3 to March 5, 2017, Japanese King Akihito and Queen Michiko visited Hue. This is an event marking the close and effective cooperation between Thua Thien Hue province and Japanese localities and partners in the past time, opening a new chapter in expanding cooperation between the parties in the coming time. - On April 14, 2017, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision 1531/QD-BVHTTDL recognizing Hai Van Quan as a National Monument. The Decision to Recognize Hai Van Quan as a National Historical and Architectural Relic is a good sign for Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang in investing in renovating and managing the relic, adding beauty to the North-South highway through Hai Van Pass and serving tourism development. - The 7th Hue Traditional Craft Festival "Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts" took place from April 28 to May 2, 2017. The 7th Traditional Craft Festival continues to be a gathering place for the intelligence and talent of artisans from craft villages of Thua Thien Hue and many localities across the country. This is an important cultural and economic event to affirm and enhance the position of Hue - Green Ancient Capital - World Heritage - Safe and Friendly City. - From September 26 to 29, 2017, the APEC Women and Economic Forum 2017 took place in Hue city. This is one of the activities within the framework of the APEC 2017 program held in Vietnam. - On January 27, 2018, Huong Thuy town solemnly held a ceremony to receive the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Duong Hoa commune as a Safe Zone commune. - From April 27 to May 2, 2018, Hue Festival 2018 with the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development - Hue 1 destination 5 heritages" took place in Hue city and localities of Thua Thien Hue province with the participation of 24 art troupes from 19 countries and territories of all 5 continents, bringing to the audience hundreds of art programs imbued with Hue cultural identity, Vietnamese culture and the cultural quintessence of countries around the world. - The extraordinary session of the 7th Provincial People's Council for the 2016 - 2021 term (June 4, 2018) elected Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016 - 2021 term. - "International Cycling Day in Hue" is a sporting event held for the first time in Hue from August 24-26, 2018. This race will become the first sporting event in Vietnam and one of the sporting events in Southeast Asia registered with the International Cycling Union (UCI) in 2019. - Thua Thien Hue Province received the First Class Labor Medal from the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) (November 29, 2018). This is a noble award of the Party and State of the Lao PDR for the important contributions of the Party Committee, Government and People of Thua Thien Hue province in building the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the past time. - On December 19, 2018, the Prime Minister approved the Master Plan for the development of the Lang Co - Canh Duong National Tourism Area, Thua Thien Hue province until 2025, with a vision to 2030 (Decision No. 1774/QD-TTg). The goal of the plan is that by 2025, Lang Co - Canh Duong Tourism Area will become a leading important destination of Thua Thien Hue province and the Central region, with a synchronous and modern technical infrastructure system, an attractive investment environment to attract investment projects in tourism development, meeting the criteria and being recognized as a National Tourism Area; Strive to make Lang Co - Canh Duong tourist area an international destination by 2030. - Establishment of the Center for Monitoring and Operation of Smart Urban Areas in Thua Thien Hue province. The Center for Monitoring and Operation of Smart Urban Areas in Thua Thien Hue province has the function of synthesizing, monitoring, and operating smart urban services, performing career tasks in the field of information technology and communications; providing solutions, services, and applications in the field of information technology, communications, and smart urban services. The Center officially operated from January 2, 2019. - Announcement of the Department, Branch, Sector and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI) of Thua Thien Hue province in 2018. This is the first year that Thua Thien Hue province has implemented the DDCI assessment in the province. The top 5 leading units (at the department, branch and sector level) are respectively: Department of Health, Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Justice; Department of Home Affairs. The top 5 leading units (at district level) are: People's Committees of Quang Dien, Nam Dong, Phu Loc, Phong Dien districts and Huong Thuy town. - The 8th Hue Traditional Craft Festival in 2019, with the theme "Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts" took place from April 26 to May 2, 2019. Hue Traditional Craft Festival continues to affirm and honor the quintessential values of Hue heritage and traditional crafts of regions in the country; introduce and promote the quintessence of crafts, traditional handicraft products and cuisine of Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue province in particular; contribute to the goal of building Hue city into a typical Festival city of Vietnam. - On May 15, 2019, at the Central Square of A Luoi district, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to announce the Decision to rank the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail as a special national relic for Thua Thien Hue province. This is an event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail (May 19, 1959 - May 19, 2019). - On May 20, 2019, the Smart Operations Center Solution in Thua Thien Hue province deployed by Viettel Telecom Industry Group was awarded the Telecom Asia Awards 2019 in the category of Asia's most innovative smart city project. - Thua Thien Hue was honored to be awarded the First Class Independence Medal by the Party and State after 30 years of re-establishment of the province (July 1, 1989 - July 1, 2019). The ceremony to receive the First Class Independence Medal was solemnly held on August 17, 2019. - At the end of March 2020, the Perfume River Theater was completed and put into operation. This is a uniquely designed architectural work, a highlight for Hue's urban space on the Perfume River with 1,000 seats. - On July 9, 2020, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center coordinated with the Nguyen Phuc Clan Council, the 9th Tien Bien System to organize a memorial service and pay tribute to King Nguyen Phuc Khoat at Truong Thai Tomb and Trieu To Temple. This is the first time the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has organized a tribute to Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat, the founder of Vietnamese Ao Dai. This is an activity aimed at building the brand of Hue - the Capital of Ao Dai. - On the afternoon of October 3, in Hanoi, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City held a seminar and meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the twinning of the three cities of Hanoi - Hue - Saigon (October 8, 1960 - October 8, 2020). - Taking place from October 21-23, 2020. Comrade Le Truong Luu - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 15th term, continued to be elected to the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 16th term. - On December 6, 2020, 367 "Honorary Students of the Whole School" were honored for the first time at the Imperial Academy. This is the first honorary title awarded by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to students who have excellently fulfilled their duties as students and have many outstanding achievements in the school year to motivate, honor, encourage learning and promote talents for the whole society. - On December 21, 2020, the first plane of Vietravel Airlines landed at Phu Bai International Airport. Vietravel Airlines is the first travel airline in Vietnam licensed by the Prime Minister to operate based at Phu Bai International Airport, Thua Thien Hue province. The Vietnam Travel Aviation Transport Project (Vietravel Airlines) has a total investment capital of 700 billion VND, a project operation period of 50 years with over 30 aircraft. - 2020 is the year of completing the resettlement of the Thuong Thanh area. The new residential area of Huong So was formed, bringing stability to the residents. With the efforts of the local government and the support of the people, the relocation of residents in the Thuong Thanh area has been completed. Households have built stable houses in the new residential area (Huong So ward, Hue city); 25 houses for poor households have also been handed over in the form of turnkey so that people can settle down and make a living. The initial success in relocating residents in the Thuong Thanh area is the premise and motivation for the next phase of resettlement in the project of relocating residents, clearing land in area I, the Hue Citadel relic system. Phase 2021 - present 2021: - On March 17, at the Library, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Hue Bookcase project and launch the first publication of the Hue Bookcase - Hue Cultural Geography. The establishment of the Hue bookshelf aims to introduce and promote the image of Hue through books, develop a reading culture, introduce valuable books, create a gift set with cultural significance of the ancient capital, build a scientific database for research on Thua Thien Hue in all fields... - On May 29, the Election Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued Resolution 79/NQ-UBND on announcing the election results and the list of elected delegates to the Provincial People's Council, term VIII, 2021-2026. According to the election results of the Provincial People's Council, term VIII, 2021-2026, the total number of delegates assigned to the Provincial People's Council is 51 delegates, the total number of candidates is 86, the total number of elected delegates to the Provincial People's Council is 51. - On June 28, 2021, at the first session of the 8th Provincial People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term. - On July 1, 2021, according to Resolution 1264/NQ-UBTVQH14 dated April 27, 2021, Thua Thien Hue province has 9 district-level administrative units (6 districts, 2 towns and 1 city); 141 commune-level administrative units (95 communes, 39 wards and 7 towns).

- On November 13, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 38/2021/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Thua Thien Hue province. The Resolution takes effect from January 1, 2022 and will be implemented for 5 years. - From November 18 to 20, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province, organized the opening ceremony of the 22nd Vietnam Film Festival with the theme "Building a Vietnamese film industry rich in national identity, modernity and humanity". - On November 23, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Hue City, the Department of Culture and Sports held a ceremony to announce the Decision and receive the certificate of ranking as a special national relic of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Relic System in Thua Thien Hue. - On November 23, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh signed Decision No. 1972/QD-TTg recognizing Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province, for completing the task of building a new rural area (NTM) in 2020. This is the first locality in the province to be recognized for completing the task of building a new rural area. - On November 23, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic. The project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for implementation with a total investment of over 128 billion VND, including the central budget, local budget and other mobilized sources. The project to preserve, restore and promote the value of Hai Van Quan relic is built at the top of Hai Van pass, between Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province and Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city with an area of about 6,500m2. The total investment of the project is more than 42 billion VND from 50% of the Da Nang city budget and 50% of the Thua Thien Hue province budget. The project implementation period is within 2 years. In 2022: - On February 24 , the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister 's decision to recognize Huong Thuy town for completing the task of building new rural areas (NTM) and receiving the Third Class Independence Medal. After 9 years of implementing the national target program, by September 2019, Huong Thuy had 7/7 communes recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting NTM standards. From 2011 to 2019, Huong Thuy received support and mobilized many resources with a total capital of more than 2,490 billion VND. Previously, on November 23, 2021, the Prime Minister signed a Decision to recognize Huong Thuy town for completing the task of building new rural areas in 2020, and at the same time, it was the first district-level unit of Thua Thien Hue to be honored to achieve this achievement. - On March 17 , the Provincial People's Committee held an online signing ceremony of the Minutes of Discussion with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam on the implementation of the project "Vietnam - Korea Peace Village". The project objective signed between Thua Thien Hue and KOICA is to improve human security for communities in target areas; Enhance sustainable rural development through enhancing sustainable livelihoods and infrastructure for target communities. The project is implemented in A Luoi district from 2022 to 2026 with non-refundable aid from the Korean Government to the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province not exceeding 3,229,246 USD. - On March 26 , at Thai Duong Ha Nam Village, Hai Duong Commune, Hue City, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony of the Project: Coastal road through Thua Thien Hue province and bridge over Thuan An estuary (Project). The investment project was approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2012/QD-UBND dated August 16, 2021. Investor: Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (project implementation phase). The objective of the Project is to form a coastal tourist route along the coast of Thua Thien Hue province; In which, the construction location of the route is closer to the coast (no more than 1km from the coast, locally not more than 2km from the sea) to create conditions to promote the formation of coastal urban areas, serve the socio -economic development, tourism of the locality, improve and enhance the lives of people in coastal communes in particular and Thua Thien Hue province in general. Connecting smoothly with the planned national coastal road, creating favorable conditions for transportation in the North - South direction and increasing connectivity to seaports, economic zones, and key industrial parks in the Central coastal region. The investment scale (phase 1) is 7,785m long; from Tam Giang bridge to the bridge over Thuan An estuary, ending at the QL49A - QL49B intersection in Thuan An ward. In which, the bridge over Thuan An estuary is 2,360.6m long; Cross-section of the route: 26m; Bridge width: 20.0m. Total investment (phase 1): 2,400 billion VND (Total investment in the finishing phase is 3,496 billion VND). Construction time to complete the project is 03 years. - On April 17, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a ceremony to receive successfully auctioned antiques abroad donated by Sunshine Group and displayed the Imperial Mandarin's Hat and the Imperial Concubine's Ao Dai Binh of the Nguyen Dynasty at the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum. Major domestic and foreign art troupes participated in a series of 8 main programs, 34 colorful typical art performances and more than 30 activities responding, accompanying, displaying and exhibiting continuously for 6 days and nights at 11 stages and venues in the area. By 2045, Thua Thien Hue will be a Festival city, a unique center of culture, education, tourism and specialized healthcare in Asia. - On October 20, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai signed and issued Decree No. 84/2022/ND-CP on the establishment and operating regulations of the Hue Heritage Conservation Fund. The Decree clearly states that the Hue Heritage Conservation Fund is a national fund established by the Government and assigned to the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province for direct management, aiming to mobilize resources to invest in restoration, conservation, and development of Hue heritage values and to invest in projects and items that have not been allocated funds from the state budget or have not been allocated enough funds. The Hue Heritage Conservation Fund operates under the model of a public service unit under the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province; it operates not for profit. - On November 11, in Huong Thuy town, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and Gilimex Industrial Park Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for Gilimex Industrial Park in Thua Thien Hue. The project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure of Gilimex Industrial Park, with Gilimex Industrial Park Joint Stock Company as the investor, was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 319/QD-TTg dated March 10, 2021. The land use scale of the Project is 460.85 hectares; total investment capital is more than VND 2,600 billion; attracting about 20 - 30 thousand workers. Gilimex Industrial Park in Thua Thien Hue province is conveniently located, near Phu Bai International Airport (2km away), located along National Highway 1A and connecting directly from Phu Bai airport to Hue city, the starting point of the East-West Economic Corridor; 50km from Chan May Port; 80km from Da Nang Port and Da Nang city center. Gilimex Industrial Park is divided into 2 sub-areas A and B. Up to now, sub-area A has leveled 50% of the ground and completed 10% of the technical infrastructure, expected to be completed and handed over to secondary investors in the fourth quarter of 2022. Nguyen Hoang Road and Huong River Overpass Project belong to Ring Road 3 - the main traffic axis, radiating into the city, connecting 02 satellite cities, Huong Tra - Huong Thuy town with Hue city. This is a special traffic project, selected through many rounds of competition, with a unique architectural concept in the form of a symbolic arch of the Cranes worshipping Thien Mu, carrying a message about the longevity of the sacred ancient capital; in harmony with the landscape, heritage and culture of Hue. The project is implemented by a consortium of prestigious foreign and Vietnamese consulting companies; is a step to realize the Prime Minister's policy on approving the general planning of Hue city to 2030 and vision to 2050; creating momentum and a highlight for the western area of Hue city. The Nguyen Hoang Street and Perfume River Overpass Project has a total investment of 2,281,569 million VND for the completion phase; phase 1 is 1,855,655 million VND. Investment capital comes from the central and local budgets. - On December 25 , Chan May Port Joint Stock Company coordinated with Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company to launch a container route at Chan May Port, Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province. Thereby, marking the opening of a new transportation service, contributing to promoting the development of logistics services, connecting Chan May seaport with domestic and international ports. - On December 31 , the Ministry of Transport coordinated with the People's Committees of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri provinces to solemnly organize the inauguration ceremony of the Cam Lo - La Son component project under the "North-South Eastern Expressway Construction Project, Phase 2017-2022". The Can Lo - La Son component project under the North-South Eastern Expressway Construction Project, Phase 2017-2020, is of great significance, initiating the formation of a North-South Eastern Expressway route. The project passes through the two provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri, connecting the economic and political centers of the two provinces, gradually completing the synchronous infrastructure, opening up many investment opportunities, creating the premise for socio-economic development of the two provinces in particular and the Central region in general, especially marking an important milestone, being one of the first North-South expressways in the East to be completed, contributing to creating a complete transport network to meet the strategy of developing transport and socio-economic of the whole country.
