During the rainy season from June to August, the Ma Da forest teems with thousands of tiny, beautiful butterflies, marking the breeding season of butterflies in the Ma Da Forest Nature Reserve, Dong Nai Cultural and Natural Reserve, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province. The Ma Da forest boasts over 300 species of butterflies, most notably the Blue Swallowtail Butterfly, also known as the White-tailed Dragon Butterfly (Lamproptera curius), characterized by its stunningly long tail. This species has been a protected species in Vietnam since 2007, and is found only in the Ma Da forest in the South.
