(NLĐO) - For the first time, Vinh Thanh mountainous district in Binh Dinh province is organizing a peach blossom festival to attract tourists.
On February 8th, at K3 village, Vinh Son commune, Vinh Thanh district People's Committee organized the 2025 Peach Blossom Festival with the theme "Spring colors of peach blossoms connect cultures".
Japanese cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Vinh Son.
This is the first time Vinh Thanh district has organized a peach blossom festival, aiming to awaken the potential and develop tourism associated with the cultural identity of the Ba Na ethnic group, and promising to bring many memorable experiences to tourists from near and far.
Located at an altitude of approximately 800 meters above sea level, Vinh Son commune has long been known as the " Da Lat of Binh Dinh" thanks to its temperate climate and many beautiful scenic spots. Since 2016, local people have begun experimentally planting temperate flowers such as cherry blossoms, sunflowers, and hydrangeas, creating a visually stunning landscape.
In particular, in 2019, through the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai City (Japan), Binh Dinh province imported 200 cherry blossom trees for a pilot planting project in Vinh Son. After successful testing, by the end of 2020, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province approved the project to plant Japanese cherry blossoms.
The Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association has pledged to support Binh Dinh province with approximately 10,000 Japanese cherry blossom trees for propagation at the Vinh Son ecological zone, transforming it into a "cherry blossom capital".
Mr. Huynh Duc Bao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Thanh District, said that this is the first time the district has organized the peach blossom festival, hoping to bring people and tourists interesting experiences and unique artistic programs. It is also an opportunity to connect, exchange, share, and promote local traditional cultural values.
