Over the years, following the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh and in response to the "Program to plant 1 billion trees - For a green Vietnam," the Party Committee and Command of Army Corps 16 have focused on leading and directing agencies and units to implement many comprehensive solutions to protect the environment, proactively respond to climate change, and link economic development with building a green and sustainable environment.

The entire Corps has intensified the movement to plant, care for, and protect trees in barracks, greening vacant land, building model roads, and improving the unit's landscape; at the same time, strengthening propaganda work to raise awareness and responsibility of officers, soldiers, and workers in protecting the ecological environment. Many units have proactively planned and selected tree species suitable to the climate and soil conditions, effectively combining production development with the construction of a regular, bright, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape.

From 2021 to the present, the entire Corps has planted 4,693 trees of various types, including 3,481 fruit trees and 1,212 timber and environmental trees, with a total value of over 1.66 billion VND.

On the same day, the following units also organized tree planting in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh at their unit's premises (Thien Hung commune, Dong Nai city), while the 726th Regiment coordinated with local authorities to plant trees in the border commune of Quang Truc, Lam Dong province.
