Bodo/Glimt received bonus money from UEFA. |
Despite playing away in Italy, the Norwegian representative still managed to brilliantly defeat Inter Milan 2-1, thereby securing their place in the Champions League round of 16 with an aggregate score of 5-2 after two legs.
This achievement earned Bodo/Glimt a significant bonus from UEFA. Specifically, after reaching the play-off round, the club pocketed a total of 42 million euros from the beginning of the tournament. By securing a place in the round of 16, they received an additional 11 million euros.
Furthermore, thanks to their two victories against Inter, Bodo/Glimt received an additional 4.2 million euros in performance bonuses, bringing their total prize money to 57.2 million euros. This figure is even higher than the club's total squad value according to Transfermarkt (57 million euros).

Bodo/Glimt caused a sensation in the Champions League. |
While this amount may not be huge compared to European giants, it represents a significant source of revenue for a team with a limited operating budget like Bodo/Glimt.
In 2017, the club's operating budget was a mere 4.2 million euros. However, by the end of the 2024/25 season, the team recorded revenue of 60 million euros. This figure is expected to increase significantly if they continue to progress deep into the Champions League this season.
"From being just a small team in the Norwegian Second Division, Bodo/Glimt has become the most financially stable team in the country in the last 7-8 years," said the club's CEO, Frode Thomassen.
Bodo/Glimt's opponent in the round of 16 will be the winner of the match between Man City and Sporting. If they overcome either of these two opponents to advance to the quarter-finals, the Norwegian representative will pocket an additional €12.5 million in prize money from UEFA.
