Summer rain

Some days the weather is truly strange. One moment it's bright and sunny, the next it's pouring rain. It's not a light drizzle, just a gentle wetness, but a torrential downpour, a dark, swirling rain, as if angry at some unknown entity. Summer rains always leave people with a lingering sense of unease.

The night slowly drew to a close as the sunbeams began to use their magic wands to part the curtain of stars. The sun rose early, its brilliance dazzling. And then, as if wanting to show off its radiant beauty, it began to dance across the sky, its flowing sunlit dress spreading everywhere, scattering golden rays in vast clusters, ultimately encompassing the entire sky in a period of time that we can call "day."

The summer sun is scorching hot. It's truly dazzling. Strangely, while the intense sunlight makes people squint, and even looking at the sun for too long results in only afterimages when looking at something else, it's also the season when flowers of all colors, no less vibrant than the sun itself—like kapok, hibiscus, or even bougainvillea—show off their overflowing red blossoms. It seems they don't understand how dazzling they are, or perhaps they want to compare themselves to the sunlight, to see who is more magnificent in the summer.

Through the window, dark clouds slowly gathered. Summer rain usually falls slowly. A little girl sat gazing at the sunlight through the window, beads of sweat falling hastily before the dark clouds rolled in. The branches of the tree outside her window suddenly swayed in the wind. The hurried breeze made the leaves rustle, and the soul of the person watching the sun suddenly felt cool, fresh, and clear. The wind grew stronger, and the dark clouds began to obscure the sky. Some people who were hanging laundry were still debating whether to bring it in, as occasional rays of sunlight struggled to pierce through the dark clouds, proving that it was their time. Then a few raindrops began to fall, followed by powerful downpours that left many speechless, only able to sigh: "It was so sunny just a moment ago!"

Summer rains are often heavy but usually stop quickly. While it's raining, the cool air can be refreshing, but as soon as it stops, the weather immediately returns to its usual stifling heat. It's so intense that no one even remembers the downpour. Perhaps because these are out-of-season rains, the weather after the rain becomes even drier and hotter. Summer is especially prone to sudden thunderstorms. Loud thunder that tears through the sky, sometimes accompanied by heavy downpours. Sometimes thunder rumbles without a single drop of rain, as if the weather suddenly changed and then abruptly stopped. But as is often the case, out-of-season events are fleeting and end quickly, though they often leave behind lingering effects.

There was a girl who loved waiting for the summer rains. She liked things that were contrary to the norm. Summer rains were often very refreshing and beautiful. Mostly due to the weather, the rain wasn't heavy, but rather a fleeting, beautiful shower. The rain gently danced from the roof, falling in streams of water. Although it was usually very hot after the rain, sometimes, even if very faint, a rainbow could be seen. And these rare occurrences often left lasting impressions in people's minds.
