To meet the criteria for organizing production in the construction of new rural areas, one of the important indicators is that the commune must have an effectively operating cooperative. To have effectively operating cooperatives, the focus must first be on developing new ones. Mr. Lieu Xuan Du, Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, said: Implementing the program and plan for the development of the collective economy of the Provincial People's Committee, in recent years, the Provincial Cooperative Union has closely coordinated with relevant units to promote propaganda, mobilization, and support the development of new cooperatives through various forms.
Specifically, the Provincial Cooperative Union has coordinated with news agencies and media outlets to organize conferences and training sessions on the development of the collective economy. From 2021 to the present, the Provincial Cooperative Union has organized and co-organized 126 conferences to disseminate information on the Cooperative Law and guide the establishment of new cooperatives for approximately 11,222 participants, including founders, women's association members, farmers, and youth union members. On average, each year, the unit collaborates in producing 3-5 documentaries promoting the collective economy and cooperatives, while also integrating the content of the collective economy into conferences from the provincial to the grassroots level…
During the period 2020-2025, the province established 413 new cooperatives. To date, there are 559 registered cooperatives operating in the province, and 100% of communes and wards have cooperatives, many of which are operating effectively, creating jobs and increasing income for the people. |
Thanks to extensive publicity efforts, the founders have clearly understood the purpose, significance, and process of establishing cooperatives. Mr. Ho Van Hoc, Director of Quang Huy Trade and Service Cooperative (Chi Lang commune), said: "Previously, my family was involved in the agricultural product purchasing business. In 2021, after being informed about the cooperative model, I recognized its benefits and decided to establish a cooperative. Since its inception, the cooperative has effectively played its role in linking production to product consumption for the people (on average, the cooperative consumes over 1,500 tons of various agricultural products for the people each year)."
Similarly, Mr. Lo Tien Nong (Loc Binh commune) also campaigned for the establishment of the Loc Binh Clean Agriculture Cooperative in 2025. Mr. Nong said: The cooperative mainly operates in the fields of agriculture and forestry. Currently, the cooperative is starting to plant some medicinal plants and raise poultry. By joining the cooperative, member households have more opportunities to support each other in overcoming difficulties related to land, capital, production experience, etc.
Another highlight in the development of new cooperatives in the province during the 2020-2025 period is the involvement of established cooperatives. Mr. Duong Huu Chuc, Director of Le Hong Phong Fisheries Cooperative in Bac Son commune, said: "To date, the cooperative has been operating for 15 years. Through this time, I have recognized the benefits of the cooperative model, and therefore I regularly coordinate with relevant units directly in communes and villages to promote cooperative development. For example, in 2022, I successfully encouraged the establishment of 5 new cooperatives in communes formerly belonging to Bac Son district."
Furthermore, financial support for newly established cooperatives has been provided promptly. From 2020 to the present, 144 cooperatives in the province have received financial support for their establishment, totaling nearly 3 billion VND. This has created an impetus for people and founders to establish new cooperatives, leading to a rapid increase in the number of cooperatives in the province. As a result, during the 2020-2025 period, 413 new cooperatives were established in the province, bringing the cumulative total to 559 registered cooperatives. 100% of communes and wards now have cooperatives, many of which operate effectively, creating jobs and increasing income for the people. This breakthrough helps localities gradually achieve not only the criteria for production organization but also those related to income, poverty reduction, and employment.
During the period 2026-2030, although the criteria for building new rural areas will be adjusted to suit practical realities, the achievements in cooperative development over the past time will serve as a solid foundation. This will be the driving force for the province to continue innovating production organization forms, improving people's lives, and steadily progressing in the next phase of building new rural areas.
