Ronaldo became the first footballer to reach the billionaire milestone, according to the latest statistics from Bloomberg . This success comes mainly thanks to his huge contract with Al Nassr - a team in the Saudi Pro League, along with a series of lucrative investments and advertising contracts around the world.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January 2023, after terminating his contract with MU by mutual agreement. After the 2022 World Cup ended, CR7 signed a two and a half year contract with Al Nassr, receiving a record salary of 177 million pounds/year - equivalent to 3.4 million pounds/week.
Ronaldo reportedly pocketed £354m in his first two years at Al Nassr, plus a further £102m in the first half of 2025 alone. In total, the first contract will see the Portuguese superstar earn £456m in two years.

Despite rumours of a possible departure, Ronaldo decided to stick with the Riyadh club, signing a two-year contract extension in June, worth around £298m. The 40-year-old superstar will earn around £12.4m a month in his new deal, meaning he has added almost £50m to his net worth in the past four months alone.
Saudi Arabian press said this figure does not include the 20% shares that CR7 received when signing a new contract with Al Nassr, making him one of the club's shareholders.
To date, Ronaldo has scored 104 goals in 117 games for Al Nassr. His achievements on the pitch and his huge income in Saudi Arabia have helped him raise his total earnings at the club to £505.6 million - a huge number in the history of sports .
With assets exceeding 1 billion pounds, Ronaldo not only affirms his legendary status on the field but also becomes a symbol of success in the international sports world.
