Closely monitoring the local area, the unit closely coordinates with local Party committees, authorities, departments, and mass organizations to organize diverse forms of propaganda suitable for each target group. The content of the propaganda focuses on the Vietnamese Border Guard Law, the Vietnamese Maritime Law, regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and regulations on border and maritime management.

Since the beginning of the year, the unit has coordinated and organized 20 awareness sessions for over 1,500 participants; and distributed more than 2,500 leaflets to fishermen. In particular, bringing legal knowledge to the younger generation through the "Borderland Lesson" model has yielded practical results with 4 lessons attracting over 450 teachers and students in the area, contributing to fostering love for the homeland and awareness of protecting sovereignty from an early age and from afar.
Beyond simply imparting knowledge, the Tra Co Border Guard Station, in coordination with local authorities, has effectively established and maintained eight self-governing groups for border areas and boundary markers, as well as self-governing groups for security and order at wharves and in neighborhoods, with the widespread participation of the people. These groups have become an "extension" of the Border Guard force, contributing to maintaining stability in the area at the grassroots level.
The unit's jurisdiction has a large Catholic population, with nearly 2,000 parishioners belonging to Tra Co Parish. Recognizing this unique characteristic, the unit has effectively developed and implemented a model to encourage Catholics to live "good lives and uphold moral values," actively participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and maintaining security and order in border and coastal areas. Through coordination with the Parish Council and priests, legal education is widely disseminated and adapted to the religious life of the community.
100% of the parishioners in the area have signed a commitment to abide by the law, not participate in illegal activities, and not abet crime. The rate of culturally exemplary families among the Catholic community is over 90%, and many residential areas maintain their status as culturally exemplary neighborhoods, contributing to the stability and development of the area. Particularly, given the unique characteristics of the vast coastal region, the unit regularly disseminates information and guides fishermen to comply with regulations in fisheries exploitation, avoiding violations of foreign waters, contributing to the nationwide effort to lift the European Commission's "yellow card" against Vietnam's fisheries sector.

Thanks to effective propaganda and dissemination of laws, the people not only comply well with regulations but also proactively provide valuable information, supporting functional forces in the fight against crime. The spirit of solidarity and close ties between the military and the people is increasingly strengthened, creating a solid all-people border defense posture. In the fight against crime, in 2025 and the first months of this year, the unit detected, arrested, and processed 77 cases involving 138 individuals and 57 vehicles; seized items included 5,750 packs of cigarettes, 4,000 kg of oysters, 2,400 kg of frozen pork offal, 1,200 kg of frozen duck meat, and 80 kg of crayfish. Of these, one case/2 individuals were recommended for prosecution; six cases/7 individuals were prosecuted criminally; and 70 cases/129 individuals were handled administratively. The unit coordinated the repatriation of 10 Chinese citizens who had entered the country illegally.
