A turning point for Mudryk

Chelsea are considering loaning midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk to Strasbourg if he is allowed to return to the pitch.

According to L'Equipe , the prospect of Mudryk joining Strasbourg on loan is likely. Strasbourg is a "sister club" of Chelsea after the BlueCo group completed the acquisition of the Ligue 1 team in the summer of 2023. Recently, Strasbourg has become a familiar destination for Chelsea players seeking more playing opportunities.

Mudryk has not played for Chelsea since November 2024 after his test sample came back positive for a banned substance. The English Football Association (FA) charged the player in June 2025. However, Mudryk has consistently denied any use of banned substances and maintained his innocence.

If found guilty of violating anti-doping regulations, the 25-year-old player could face a suspension of up to four years. Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency said it is still awaiting the FA's disciplinary ruling before deciding whether to appeal.

During his temporary suspension, Mudryk rarely appeared in public. The last time he was seen with his teammates was at Chelsea's 2024/25 Europa Conference League victory celebrations in Poland.

On social media, Mudryk shared that the positive test result shocked him and affirmed that he had never intentionally used any banned substances. Recently, the player also posted a video of himself training at the semi-professional club Uxbridge to maintain his fitness while awaiting the final verdict.
