Busquets announces his retirement.

The Spanish player revealed his decision by posting a video to his Instagram account, recounting his experiences after nearly 20 years of career with Barcelona, Miami, and Spain.

Busquets won many prestigious titles with Barcelona.

"I feel it's time to say goodbye to my professional football career. Almost 20 years of enjoying the amazing story I've always dreamed of. Football has given me unique experiences in amazing places, with the best friends," Busquets shared on Instagram.

"Thank you FC Barcelona, the club of my life. There, I fulfilled my childhood dream of wearing the jersey I loved in hundreds of matches. I experienced many ups and downs here and had unique moments at Camp Nou, which I will never forget."

Thank you, Spain National Team. It has been an honor to represent the team so many times. Those glorious achievements will always remain in my heart.

Thank you Inter Miami for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the club, where I want to have a new experience and give my all."

Busquets won the World Cup and the European Championship with Spain.

Busquets will retire from football after more than 700 appearances for FC Barcelona, where he won every major title, most notably 9 La Liga titles and 3 UEFA Champions League titles. The midfielder, born in 1988, achieved a historic sextuple with the Catalan club in the 2008/2009 season. With the Spanish national team, he won the World Cup in 2010 and the EURO 2012 title.

Busquets added: "Thank you to all my colleagues, staff and everyone who shared these wonderful and unforgettable moments with me. The greatest thing I received was all of you. Thank you to the fans around the world for your love and respect. I hope I have been able to repay even a small part of what you have given me... These will be my final months on the pitch. I will retire with happiness, pride, contentment and above all, gratitude. Thank you very much, see you again... Every ending is a new beginning."

Busquets will retire as soon as his original contract with the club expires. Inter Miami has qualified for the MLS playoffs, giving the Spaniard another chance to lift the trophy.
