| Many tourists choose camping services at beautiful locations along Lake Ba Be. |
Sailing on Lake Ba Be at sunset, with the lake's surface bathed in golden sunlight, we came across a group of tourists sitting next to tents by the lake, enjoying music from a small speaker, preparing for a night of camping amidst nature.
In a conversation with us, Ms. Luu Thi Hoa, a tourist from Hung Yen province, expressed her delight at experiencing overnight camping by the lake. Previously, when visiting Ba Be Lake, homestays and guesthouses were her only options for overnight accommodation, but this camping experience made her trip even more memorable.
Similarly to Ms. Hoa, Ms. Chu Thi Minh Song, a fellow tourist in the group, shared the same sentiment: "I've been camping in many places, but what I like most here is the fresh, cool climate."
The man behind these experiences is Mr. Hoang Van Quang, a local tourism worker in Ban Cam village, Ba Be commune. Recognizing Ban Cam's remote location and its lack of tourist awareness, Mr. Quang constantly pondered how to attract more visitors to his village's beautiful scenery.
Taking advantage of the beautiful grassy banks of the Năng River and the lush green natural landscape of Bản Cám area, since 2023, Mr. Quang has boldly invested in tents and campsites, adding camping services for tourists. Here, tourists only need to choose a location and make a reservation to receive attentive service regarding food, drinks, and accommodation, without having to bring bulky equipment like when camping on their own.
While busily preparing outdoor barbecues for tourists, Mr. Quang told us: "Initially, I only invested in a few small tents to accommodate young people who came to camp for a few hours, but later, many tourists enjoyed the beautiful grassy areas and ancient trees along the shores of Ba Be Lake, where they could relax or take very 'chill' photos. Therefore, I boldly invested in more tents of various sizes."
From initially only offering daytime services, Mr. Quang now caters to families and groups of young people who want to camp overnight. Depending on the needs of the visitors, the price per person can range from 800,000 to over 1 million VND for a one-day, one-night camping trip at Ba Be Lake.

Having visited Ba Be Lake many times and chosen to stay in homestays, this time Truong Duc Thanh and his friends from Hanoi opted for camping on the shores of Ba Be Lake. The campsite, prepared by Quang for Thanh and his friends, was quite secluded from the villages, near Ao Tien.
To cater to tourists' preferences, Quang had previously prepared an itinerary so that Thanh and his friends could experience paddleboarding from Buoc Lom pier along the Nang River to Ba Be Lake. Thanh said: "I've been here twice before and stayed in guesthouses, but this time I chose camping. The preparations were very thoughtful, the location is beautiful, and we are very happy and satisfied."
Camping is suitable for those who love experiencing nature and feeling the peacefulness of life.
When camping by Ba Be Lake, visitors can participate in many optional activities such as: stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming in Ba Be Lake, catching fish, and fishing in front of the campsite. In the evening, visitors are served outdoor BBQ parties, karaoke, and bonfires… Popular camping spots include the grassy area along the Nang River in Ban Cam, the spring festival area in Bo Lu village, the sandy area in Puong Cave, or the rice paddies along the road to Ao Tien...
