Camping on Ba Be Lake

Many tourists choose camping services at beautiful locations along Ba Be Lake.

Sailing on Ba Be Lake in the afternoon sunset, the lake surface shimmering with golden sunlight, we came across a group of tourists sitting next to the tents by the lake and enjoying music from small speakers, preparing for a night of camping in the middle of nature.

Talking to us, Ms. Luu Thi Hoa, a tourist from Hung Yen province, was very excited to experience overnight camping activities on the lakeside. If before, when coming to Ba Be Lake, homestays and motels were the only options for overnight stays, this camping activity made Ms. Hoa's trip more memorable.

Similar to Ms. Hoa, Ms. Chu Thi Minh Song, a tourist in the same group, also had the same feeling: I have been camping in many places, but what I like most here is the fresh, cool climate.

The person behind these experiences is Mr. Hoang Van Quang, a local resident working in tourism in Ban Cam, Ba Be Commune. Realizing that Ban Cam is located far from the center of the lake and is not well known to tourists, Mr. Quang always wondered how to attract more tourists to visit the beautiful scenery of his village.

Taking advantage of the beautiful grassy area along the Nang River and the natural landscape with many trees in the Ban Cam area, since 2023, Mr. Quang has boldly invested in tents, camps, and opened more camping services for tourists. Coming here, tourists only need to choose a location and book a place to be served attentively in terms of food, drink, and accommodation without having to bring cumbersome belongings like when camping on their own.

Mr. Quang was busy preparing outdoor barbecue for tourists and told us: At first, I only invested in a few small tents to serve young people who came to camp for a session, but later many tourists were interested because on the shore of Ba Be Lake there are beautiful lawns and ancient trees, where you can sit and relax or take very "chill" photos. Therefore, I boldly invested in more tents and camps of different sizes.

From only serving during the day, Quang now serves families or groups of young people who want to camp overnight. Depending on the needs of the tourists, the price for each person can be from 800,000 to more than 1 million VND/person when camping for 1 day, 1 night at Ba Be Lake.

Camping at Ba Be Lake, visitors can immerse themselves in the peaceful scenery of nature.

Having been to Ba Be Lake many times and chosen to stay at homestays, this time Mr. Truong Duc Thanh and his friends in Hanoi chose camping services on the shore of Ba Be Lake. The camping site prepared by Mr. Quang for Mr. Thanh and his friends is an area quite separate from the village, near Ao Tien.

To meet the interests of tourists, Mr. Quang had previously prepared a schedule for Mr. Thanh and his friends to experience SUP rowing from Buoc Lom boat station along Nang River to Ba Be Lake. Mr. Thanh said: I have been here twice before and stayed at a motel, but this time I chose camping, you guys prepared very carefully, the location is beautiful, we are very happy and satisfied.

Camping is suitable for those who love to experience nature and feel the peaceful life.

When camping on the shore of Ba Be Lake, visitors can also participate in many activities on request such as: SUP, kayaking, swimming in Ba Be Lake, fishing, fishing in front of the campsite. In the evening, visitors are served outdoor BBQ parties, karaoke, campfires... The camping sites that are loved by visitors are the grassy fields along the Nang River in Ban Cam, the spring festival site in Bo Lu village, the sandbank in Puong Cave or the rice fields along the road to Ao Tien...
