“Can Tho - Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings”

The group singing performance "Following His Footsteps - Glorious Fatherland" will open the competition program.

“Oh Uncle Ho! Oh Uncle Ho!/ Your name will shine forever in the mountains and rivers/ The race of the Dragon and Fairy is famous/ We send our wholehearted respect and love”, those are the last lines of the traditional song “ Ho Chi Minh , Your Name Shines Forever”, composed by Viet An, sung by the artist duo Phuong Anh - Hong Giang. The traditional song praises and expresses gratitude to beloved President Ho Chi Minh with sweet, lingering southern melodies. The emotional and lyrical performance of the two artists won the hearts of the audience. This is also an expected performance of Can Tho City in this festival.

Another performance that was also invested in very elaborately was the independent dance “Rice Pancake” ( music by Nhat Phuong, choreography by Minh Tuan). Through the language of dance, artists from the Can Tho City Cultural and Artistic Center told about the Thuan Hung rice paper craft village, from the plump, full rice grains, through many stages of milling, pounding, winnowing, and then through the skillful, fragrant hands of Can Tho people, Thuan Hung rice paper was born, becoming a hometown specialty. The smooth combination of movements, music and light created an impressive, artistic performance.

Or with the solo performance of the Dan Kim piece "Da Co Hoai Lang", young artist Nguyen Nghiep made the audience immerse themselves in the pentatonic melodies imbued with the Southern identity. The sound of the Dan Kim was slow and steady, each note seemed to carry the voice of the heart and emotions. These were 3 impressive performances in the overall program, in addition, the other 2 performances were equally impressive: the choir "Following the footsteps of the people - Glorious Fatherland" and the song and dance medley " Can Tho, proud city - Vast new road".

The program ensures content and genre according to the rules of the Organizing Committee, most importantly, closely following the theme "Can Tho - Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings". Through the performances, the artists convey the message about the hearts of Can Tho people for their beloved Uncle Ho and the achievements of their homeland in the context of the country entering a new era - the era of national growth.

These days, artists of the Can Tho City Cultural and Arts Center are working hard to practice and perfect their performances to be ready to perform in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown this weekend. With the meaning of the festival as well as the message from the performances, the artists are very enthusiastic and try their best to perform. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phu, Director of the Can Tho City Cultural and Arts Center, said: The competition program of Can Tho City ensures the requirements of the Organizing Committee and carries the identity and characteristics of the locality. The performing force is mainly artists and actors of the center, with careful preparation, quite early. Up to this point, artists of the Tay Do land are ready to come to "Sen Village Singing", joining artists from all over the country in singing praises to President Ho Chi Minh, celebrating his birthday.
