More than just a New Year's celebration, this is also a special spring season as the festival is being held for the first time after the merger, expanding the cultural space and bringing together many communes and wards to participate in a unified, diverse, and vibrant whole.
The Liêng Nung Spring Festival 2026 kicked off with great fanfare at the Traditional Musical Instruments Exhibition House, N'Jriêng residential area, Đông Gia Nghĩa ward. The festive atmosphere attracted a large number of locals and tourists, who joined in the rhythm of the gongs, the dances, and the vibrant colors of the local culture.

With the theme "Echoes of the Great Forest," the festival vividly recreates the cultural and spiritual life of the ethnic groups in western Lam Dong . The resounding sounds of gongs echoing through the mountains and forests, the solemn prayers, the rhythmic looming, and the joyful laughter of folk games… all blend together to create a spring symphony rich in the essence of the highlands, brimming with the faith and aspirations of the community.

This year's spring festival brought together nearly 200 artisans from various localities such as Dong Gia Nghia ward, Nam Gia Nghia ward, Bac Gia Nghia ward, Truong Xuan commune, Tuy Duc commune, Quang Phu commune, etc.
Each place brings its own unique cultural characteristics, all converging in the shared space of the festival, creating a diverse yet unified cultural tapestry – where identity is not diluted, but celebrated through interaction and connection.

The cultural program is a highlight, richly recreating the working life, daily activities, and beliefs of the indigenous people. In particular, the active participation of the younger generation not only brings new life to the festival but also demonstrates the enduring continuation of tradition in modern life.

One of the typical activities of the Liêng Nung Spring Festival 2026 is the ritual of offering the new rice harvest to the Ma people – a sacred ceremony associated with their long-standing agricultural beliefs. In a solemn setting beside the ceremonial pole, carefully selected first-harvest rice grains are pounded into rice and cooked into bamboo tubes of sticky rice to offer to the deities.

Amidst the gentle ringing of gongs, the village elder's prayers resound, conveying wishes for peace, unity, and a bountiful harvest in the coming year. The ceremony is not only spiritually significant but also an opportunity for the community to gather around a pot of rice wine, sharing the joys of the new year.

Besides the ceremonial part, the brocade weaving area attracts a large number of locals and tourists. Wreaths are set up right in the festival grounds, where artisans diligently move their shuttles, weaving vibrant patterns – the culmination of cultural memories and the skillful hands of local women.

The culinary space is also a highlight of the spring festival. Traditional dishes such as sticky rice cooked in bamboo tubes, stewed soup, grilled meat, bép leaves, and rattan shoots... are rich in the flavors of the mountains and forests, prepared using traditional methods. Each dish is not only for enjoyment but also reflects folk knowledge and the way people live in harmony with nature.

On the spacious grounds, traditional folk games such as stick pushing, arm wrestling, blindfolded duck catching, etc., take place enthusiastically, creating a joyful atmosphere and fostering community bonding.

The Liêng Nung Spring Festival is not only a place to preserve traditional cultural values, but also a space for the younger generation to immerse themselves, continue, and spread the cultural heritage of the nation. Through each spring festival, the unique identity of the mountains and forests of Lam Dong continues to be nurtured, promoted, and shine brightly in contemporary life.
