Warning: In the next 6-12 hours, areas within the province will continue to experience rain, with a risk of flash floods and landslides on small rivers and streams, and mudslides on slopes in some localities.
According to the Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, over the past 24 hours (from 3 PM on May 8th to 3 PM on May 9th), moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain, has fallen in the districts of Bao Yen, Bac Ha, Bao Thang, and the town of Sa Pa.
Specifically, in Bao Yen district: Nghia Do commune 194 mm, Vinh Yen commune 68.2 mm, Tan Tien commune 86.2 mm; in Bac Ha district: Nam Khanh commune 109 mm, Nam Det commune 78 mm, Ban Lien commune 72.2 mm, Nam Luc commune 83.6 mm. In Sa Pa town: Ban Ho commune 78.0 mm…. The remaining areas had rainfall generally ranging from 30 – 40 mm.

Soil moisture models as of 3:00 PM on May 9th show that in the districts of Bao Yen, Bac Ha, Bat Xat, and the town of Sa Pa, soil moisture has reached near-saturation levels (over 90%).
Warning: In the next 6-12 hours, areas within the province will continue to experience rain with accumulated rainfall generally ranging from 20-30 mm, and in some places exceeding 60 mm.
There is a high to very high risk of flash floods and landslides on small rivers and streams in the following localities: Tan Tien, Viet Tien, Nghia Do, Long Khanh, Minh Tan, Thuong Ha, Kim Son, Cam Con (Bao Yen); Ngu Chi Son, Lien Minh, Muong Hoa, Ban Ho, Trung Chai (Sa Pa); Nam Det, Nam Mon, Nam Khanh, Coc Ly, Nam Luc, Ban Lien, Bac Ha town (Bac Ha); Phong Hai town, Thai Nien, Tang Loong, Gia Phu, Ban Cam (Bao Thang); Trung Leng Ho, Nam Pung, Muong Hum (Bat Xat).
Flash floods and landslides can impact the environment, threaten people's lives; cause traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles; destroy public and economic infrastructure, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities. Therefore, localities and people in the province need to raise their vigilance and prepare thoroughly for various situations to respond promptly to floods and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
