Salah is facing criticism.

Jamie Carragher didn't shy away. After nearly two days of silence following Mohamed Salah's shocking remarks at Elland Road, the former Liverpool center-back took to Monday Night Football and delivered one of the coldest critiques of English football in recent years.

Carragher bluntly called Salah's actions a "disgrace," thus opening up a powerful in-depth analysis of the ego, role, and responsibility of Liverpool's star player.

Salah rarely stops to speak in the mixed zone, but each time he does, according to Carragher, it's a "deliberate script." Therefore, the statement, "Carragher will criticize me again tomorrow," wasn't just an outburst. It signaled a public confrontation. Carragher remained silent until the very end, but that silence turned out to be preparation for a blow.

And when he spoke, he didn't miss a beat. Carragher emphasized that Salah had every right to be upset about being consistently benched. But choosing a moment when Liverpool were at their lowest point to attack manager Arne Slot was "the harshest blow possible for the team." He even accused Salah of wanting to "push the manager into a corner."

Not only that, Carragher also revisited Salah's career before joining Liverpool: "He was known as a failure at Chelsea. Not a big star. And he hadn't won anything significant with the Egyptian national team." The message is clear: Salah is great because of Liverpool, and he needs to remember that.

Carragher also mentioned the eight years the Liverpool full-back had to carry the entire defensive burden behind Salah: "He says people throw him under the bus, but he let his teammates bear the brunt of it for a long time."

When asked if he was a "harsher of Salah," Carragher immediately retorted that he had never attacked the 33-year-old striker's form, defensive abilities, or selfishness. On the contrary, he had always defended Salah against excessive criticism this season.

But “I will speak up when Salah thinks he has the right to throw the club under the bus.” That’s a line Carragher won’t allow anyone to cross, not even the greatest legend of the Klopp era.

The clash between Salah and Carragher reflects the chaos at Liverpool in the post-Klopp era. Slot hasn't built a solid foundation, the team lacks the character of a former European champion, and their biggest star has chosen the worst possible time to ignite a new flame.

Carragher may be harsh, but his message is clear: Liverpool cannot weather the crisis if those in charge put their egos before the team.

When a legend has to stand up and reiterate core values, it means Liverpool are facing a much deeper problem than just a draw against Leeds.
