Carvajal grabbed Saka by the neck in the technical area.

Despite suffering a ligament injury and not being included in the matchday squad, Carvajal unexpectedly appeared in the Bernabeu's technical area at halftime – a move prohibited by UEFA regulations. There, he approached Saka with a tense demeanor.

According to the footage, Carvajal placed his hand on the back of the English star's neck as the two teams retreated into the tunnel, prompting players and coaching staff from both sides to quickly intervene.

The incident reportedly stemmed from Saka's Panenka-style penalty kick in the first half. Marca revealed that Carvajal considered it disrespectful, leading to an unexpected confrontation between the two players.

Interestingly, Carvajal was the one who successfully executed the Panenka penalty kick that helped Spain win the 2023 Nations League. But this time, he lost his temper when he saw his opponent use a similar technique – revealing a significant psychological conflict.

UEFA is investigating the incident involving Dani Carvajal. According to AS, if it is determined that the 32-year-old defender violated regulations by leaving the stands to go to the technical area – similar to the case of Xabi Alonso in 2014 – he could face a suspension in upcoming European competitions, with a maximum penalty of up to four matches.

Meanwhile, Arsenal won 2-1 at the Bernabeu (5-1 on aggregate) and advanced to the semi-finals to face PSG. But the spotlight after the match was on Carvajal – who didn't play, but was the most talked-about player.
