The "small" boy tries to overcome fate

Born into a family with extremely difficult circumstances in Hamlet 8, Thanh Hoa Commune, Bu Dop District, fate was not kind to him because right from birth, he was not normal like other children, due to genetics from his disabled father (due to exposure to the toxic chemical Dioxin), congenital atrophy of both legs made him forever just a small boy weighing less than 20kg, walking with great difficulty.

Loving their son, his parents tried to treat him but were helpless. Since he was a child, the boy was very studious, Son's persistent efforts made his parents proud and a little sad.

Despite his disabled legs, the boy Son has more perseverance and patience than others, to draw his own dream in life.

Despite his physical disability and many difficulties in life, Son did well in all subjects during his 12 years of schooling, and for many years he was an excellent student at the school, district, and provincial levels, especially in Physics. Not only was he one of the students with excellent academic achievements, he also actively participated in clubs, youth movements, and associations organized by the school. With the dream of becoming an IT knight, Son passed the entrance exam to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. "This success proves that no matter how harsh the circumstances are, determination and constant effort can open the door to new heights," Hai Son shared.

During his high school years, Son was taken to school by his mother. When his mother was sick or busy, he asked his classmates to pick him up. With the care of teachers, friends and social organizations, Son did not feel sad or inferior. The companionship of everyone gave him the will and motivation to overcome all difficulties, study hard and pass the entrance exam to the Faculty of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. Up to now, Son has a stable monthly job.

The life of a sick person may be inconvenient but not miserable, he is always optimistic to affirm his own value and bring good values ​​to people in the same situation. After graduating, Son became an IT engineer serving the Vietnam Association for the Assistance of the Disabled (VNAH). In addition, he often participates in competitions for the disabled, television programs such as " Hello love"; "Flowers in everyday life"   of Radio and Television Station and Binh Phuoc Newspaper with the desire to inspire the will to live, spreading positive messages in society.

With his active contributions to community work, Mr. Son received a certificate of merit " Outstanding student in studying, working, and integrating into the community in the period 2016-2018";   certificate of merit   "Outstanding disabled people with achievements in life"; …   In particular, Tran Ai Hai Son is one of 38 outstanding disabled youths being honored in the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" in 2024 organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in coordination with TCP Vietnam Company Limited.

The program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" in 2024 was organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and TCP Vietnam Company Limited, aiming to find and honor exemplary disabled youth who are resilient, overcome adversity and actively contribute to the development of the community.
