Altay Bayindir is reportedly close to reaching a personal agreement to return to his homeland and play for Besiktas in the summer of 2026.

Bayindir follows Casemiro in leaving MU.

Having joined MU from Fenerbahce in September 2023 for a fee of £4.3 million, Bayindir has never secured a regular starting position. After more than two seasons, the 27-year-old goalkeeper has only made 17 appearances, often ranking behind Andre Onana and Senne Lammens in the pecking order.

Bayindir was given a chance by manager Ruben Amorim at the start of the 2025/26 season when Onana moved to Trabzonspor on loan. However, Bayindir's status declined when Manchester United spent £18.2 million to sign Lammens from Royal Antwerp. Since the defeat to Brentford at the end of September, he has been largely absent from the bench.

According to Turkish media, Bayindir has reached a personal agreement with Besiktas and the deal could be announced as soon as the season ends. With his contract running until 2027, MU is expected to receive a small transfer fee instead of letting the player leave on a free transfer.

Furthermore, Onana's future is also uncertain. The Cameroonian goalkeeper has two years left on his contract but is being put up for sale, as MU wants to restructure its squad and balance its finances. If they qualify for the Champions League, Onana's salary will increase significantly, further strengthening the club's resolve to push him out of Old Trafford.

Although Manchester United's top priority is strengthening their midfield, the club's management is still forced to consider adding a backup goalkeeper for Lammens. Previously, Casemiro was the first player to announce his departure from the "Red Devils" in the summer of 2026.
