Through mobilizing social resources, the associations at all levels have encouraged members and the public to participate in building many meaningful projects, such as pedestrian bridges, cultural residential clusters, toilets, lighting systems, and housing for poor households…
During the period 2020-2025, the veterans' associations at all levels mobilized over 24 billion VND, of which veteran members contributed nearly 4 billion VND along with thousands of man-days of labor; donated more than 155,000 m² of land for site clearance; participated in the construction and upgrading of nearly 200 km of rural roads and hundreds of km of irrigation canals, contributing to the completion of a comprehensive and modern rural infrastructure system. More than 70 veteran households with difficult housing situations received support for new construction or repairs, with a total cost of over 5.6 billion VND.
The Veterans Association also actively participates in environmental protection. The association at all levels has established and maintained 93 environmental clubs and self-governing groups, with veterans as the core members, comprising nearly 4,000 members. The association regularly maintains environmental sanitation along 280km of roads, 8km of coastline, and many forest areas. Each month, more than 50 tons of waste are collected and properly processed by members; hundreds of thousands of trees of various types are newly planted and cared for, contributing to a green, clean, and beautiful landscape and raising community awareness in environmental protection.
The various levels of the association focus on supporting the economic development of its members. The "3-Help" movement (providing capital, seeds, and technical assistance) has been effectively implemented. From 2021 to the present, over 2,300 impoverished war veteran members have been able to maintain and develop their production through the "3-Help" movement; many local models and products such as Binh Lieu vermicelli, Tien Yen chicken, and Dam Ha eggplant have been systematically developed, becoming a stable livelihood for many war veteran families.
Veterans' associations at all levels have established and maintained over 2,400 self-governing community security and order groups, with veterans as the core. These groups have closely coordinated with functional forces to effectively resolve thousands of conflicts and disputes among the people, rehabilitate offenders, maintain grassroots security, and contribute to building a safe, united, and compassionate living environment. They have also actively mobilized support for disaster relief funds, funds for the poor, scholarships, and funds for those who have contributed to the revolution (over 18 billion VND), profoundly demonstrating the spirit of "mutual support" and camaraderie.
According to Tran Dinh Trach, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association: The Association has implemented many comprehensive solutions, first and foremost by strengthening propaganda work and raising awareness among cadres, members, and the people through vibrant emulation movements such as "Exemplary Veterans," "Veterans Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Excel in Economic Activities," "Lighting Up Rural Roads," and " Quang Ninh Veterans Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas"... Through these efforts, positive changes in awareness and actions among members are gradually being created, linking the responsibility of the people to each village and hamlet.
The association focuses on reviewing and adjusting its action program to closely match the realities of each locality, prioritizing remote, mountainous, border, and island communes where resources and access to policies are still limited; strengthening coordination with the Provincial Social Policy Bank to facilitate preferential loans for members to develop production; and mobilizing members, businesses, and the people to actively participate in building new rural areas, creating strong community resources.
Inspection, supervision, and social criticism are carried out seriously, ensuring that the implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction achieves tangible results. The Association regularly coordinates with the armed forces, the Youth Union, the Fatherland Front, and other political and social organizations to leverage combined strength in disseminating and educating on traditions, building a solid national defense posture linked to a people's security posture...
