Barca fans demand immediate sale of midfielder Araujo

On the morning of May 7, Barca had to painfully stop in the Champions League semi-finals after a 3-4 defeat to Inter Milan in a dramatic second leg at San Siro (ultimately lost 6-7 after two matches).

This result not only ended the Catalan giants' Champions League dream but also sparked a wave of anger from fans, especially aimed at center-back Ronald Araujo.

Despite not being in the starting lineup, Araujo was still brought on by coach Hansi Flick in the 76th minute to replace Inigo Martinez, hoping to strengthen the defense.

However, the appearance of the Uruguayan midfielder brought disaster. He was said to be directly at fault for both important goals that caused Barca to collapse.

First, in the 90+3 minute, when Raphinha had just scored to raise the score to 3-2 for Barca and victory seemed very close, Araujo did not mark Francesco Acerbi closely, allowing the Inter defender to comfortably head the ball to equalize 3-3, bringing the match into extra time.

The tragedy did not stop there in extra time, this central defender let Marcus Thuram easily turn around and assist Davide Frattesi to score the winning goal 4-3 for the home team.

This forgettable performance has left Barcelona fans unable to keep calm. On social network X, a series of comments criticizing and demanding the sale of Araujo have appeared: "Sell Araujo now! How many times have I said this? Sell him!", one fan wrote.

There was even a specific suggestion: "Ronald Araujo should be sold to Juventus this summer. He and Ter Stegen cannot be my captain."

Another fan expressed his anger: "Players like Araujo make you hate the sport . The anger that is boiling inside me right now is not good for my health."

In addition to the two direct errors leading to the loss, statistics also show that in 44 minutes on the field, Araujo only successfully contested the ball once and had 3 interceptions.

This defeat means that Barca's dream of winning the treble has been shattered. However, coach Hansi Flick and his team must quickly overcome this pain to "fight" for the El Clasico match against Real Madrid at the weekend.
