Barca fans are demanding the immediate sale of center-back Araujo.

From being the most trusted player in Barca's defense, wearing the captain's armband, Araujo has disappointed the home fans.

In the early hours of May 7th, Barca suffered a painful exit in the Champions League semi-finals after a 3-4 defeat against Inter Milan in a dramatic second leg at San Siro (losing 6-7 on aggregate after two legs).

This result not only ended the Catalan giants' Champions League dreams but also sparked a wave of intense outrage from fans, particularly directed at center-back Ronald Araujo.

Despite not being named in the starting lineup, Araujo was brought on by coach Hansi Flick in the 76th minute to replace Inigo Martinez, in the hope of strengthening the defense.

However, the arrival of the Uruguayan center-back proved disastrous. He is believed to have been directly responsible for both crucial goals conceded that led to Barca's collapse.

First, in the 90+3 minute, just as Raphinha had scored to put Barca 3-2 ahead and victory seemed within reach, Araujo failed to mark Francesco Acerbi tightly, allowing the Inter defender to comfortably head in the equalizer, sending the game into extra time.

The tragedy didn't end there; in extra time, the same central defender allowed Marcus Thuram to easily maneuver and set up Davide Frattesi to score the winning goal, securing a 4-3 victory for the home team.

This forgettable performance has left Barcelona fans unable to contain their anger. On social media platform X, a flood of critical comments and demands for Araujo's sale have appeared: "Sell Araujo now! How many times have I said this? Sell him!", one fan wrote.

There was even a specific suggestion: "Ronald Araujo should be sold to Juventus this summer. He and Ter Stegen can't be my captains."

Another fan expressed extreme anger: "Players like Araujo make you hate the sport . The anger I'm seething with right now is not good for my health."

Besides the two errors that directly led to the goals conceded, statistics also show that in the 44 minutes he was on the field, Araujo only successfully won one ball challenge and made three tackles.

This defeat means Barca's dream of winning the treble has been shattered. However, coach Hansi Flick and his team must quickly overcome this pain to "fight" for the El Clasico against Real Madrid at the weekend.
