Ms. Be Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Union, stated: "We believe that coordination primarily involves working alongside agencies and units to understand the role and position of the labor union organization and the actual needs of union members. From there, we support and create favorable conditions for the activities of the labor union organization to be implemented more synchronously and effectively. When implementing the coordination program, all levels of the labor union play a connecting role, thereby creating synergistic value and enhancing the effectiveness of welfare."
Specifically, from 2021 to the present, the Provincial Labor Union has signed cooperation agreements with 29 agencies, units, and businesses. Notable examples include cooperation programs between the Provincial Labor Union and the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Health, the Provincial Social Insurance Agency, the Provincial Business Association, and the Provincial Red Cross Society. The cooperation content is developed in stages, closely adhering to the needs of workers at the grassroots level and the functions and tasks of each unit. During implementation, the parties regularly exchange information, review, and evaluate to make timely adjustments and additions to suit practical realities.
In the current context, the Provincial Labor Union continues to expand its coordination efforts in the direction of "being close to the grassroots and the workers." It is expected that from April, the unit will pilot a coordination program with over 10 commune and ward Party committees to strengthen leadership and promptly identify and resolve issues arising at the grassroots level. |
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Trinh, Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, said: Through the program in coordination with the Provincial Labor Union, humanitarian activities are implemented correctly, targeting the right beneficiaries at the right time. The two sides regularly exchange information and agree on content, especially during peak periods such as "Humanitarian Month," "Workers' Month," and "Tet Reunion," to integrate support activities. This avoids duplication and enhances operational efficiency. In the past five years, through the coordination between the Red Cross Society and the Provincial Labor Union, more than 1,500 workers have received support totaling over 600 million VND.
Instead of implementing activities individually, many are organized by integrating multiple contents into a single program. Through this, workers can simultaneously receive health check-ups, legal advice, access to policy information, and participate in cultural and sports activities. This approach improves organizational efficiency, avoids fragmentation, and facilitates convenient, comprehensive, and practical access to essential services for workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chat, a member of the Trade Union at Truong An Lang Son Construction Joint Stock Company, shared: "By participating in the trade union, during the annual Workers' Month, I receive free general check-ups and tests, as well as free essential supplies and many shopping discounts. The practical care from the trade union helps me feel more secure in my work."
Thanks to the effective coordination in organizing activities, during the period 2021-2025, the entire province saw over 17,000 workers receive health check-ups with a total support cost of over 1.7 billion VND; free health check-up and testing programs were maintained annually during "Workers' Month" and "Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health" for nearly 1,000 people. In addition, nearly 900 cultural and sports activities were organized, attracting over 134,000 workers; more than 16,600 union members benefited from welfare programs with a value of over 2 billion VND.
Beyond simply providing care, the coordination efforts have also contributed to creating a ripple effect, attracting workers to join trade unions. Over the past five years, trade unions at all levels have mobilized and developed over 8,200 new members, of which nearly 4,000 are in the non-state sector; and established 37 grassroots trade unions, mainly in non-state enterprises.
Over the past period, effective coordination has created close cooperation between sectors and units, significantly improving the effectiveness of caring for, disseminating information about, and protecting the rights of workers. This has contributed to strengthening trust, fostering a sense of belonging among workers to the trade union organization, and promoting harmonious and stable labor relations, making a positive contribution to the overall development of the province.
