Việt NamViệt Nam20/12/2024

Over the years, ensuring and continuously improving the quality of cultural and spiritual life for soldiers has always been a priority for the Provincial Military Command and its units. This has helped to both guide the political ideology of the troops and encourage officers and soldiers to strive, compete, and contribute to building the unit.   Unity, solidarity, and successful completion of tasks.

In the spirit of emulation leading up to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22nd (1944-2024), agencies and units enthusiastically organized many meaningful and wholesome cultural, artistic, and sports exchange activities. These activities not only practically improved the spiritual lives of officers, soldiers, and the people, but also contributed to educating about the traditions and qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the 80-year history of building, fighting, and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army, and strengthening the solidarity between the military and the people.

A friendly volleyball match was held between officers and soldiers of the Binh Lieu District Military Command and Forestry Unit 156 (National Defense Economic Group 327) to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22nd (1944-2024).

Over the past few days, the Binh Lieu District Military Command has hosted an open sports competition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22nd, organized by the district's armed forces. Over 200 officers and soldiers enthusiastically participated in football and volleyball competitions in a friendly and joyful atmosphere.

Lieutenant Colonel Tang Van Tinh, Political Commissar of the Binh Lieu District Military Command, shared: "Not only is this activity to celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22nd, but the sports competition also contributes to promoting the physical education and sports movement in the district's armed forces, encouraging officers and soldiers to strengthen their health, and improve their cultural and spiritual lives. In addition, every year, the District Military Command coordinates with units and localities to organize programs such as 'Spring on the Border - Tet with the Warmth of Military-Civilian Relations,' and the National Unity Day with cultural, artistic, and traditional sports exchanges, as well as making traditional cakes and holding celebrations between officers and soldiers and local ethnic people. Through these activities, we aim to increase solidarity, mutual support, responsibility, and the warmth of military-civilian relations, and also provide an opportunity for officers and commanders to be closer to, listen to, and share with their soldiers."

Not only at the Binh Lieu Military Command, but also throughout the country, caring for the cultural and spiritual lives of officers and soldiers has always been a crucial aspect of the work that units have effectively prioritized and directed. Accordingly, activities to care for the cultural and spiritual lives of officers and soldiers are carried out in many diverse and rich forms, such as: organizing evening newspaper readings and news viewing; holding seminars and thematic discussions on major national and sectoral holidays; organizing competitions, cultural and artistic exchanges, physical education and sports events, and celebrating comrades' birthdays… In addition, unit commanders regularly maintain close contact with and understand the ideological situation of the troops by maintaining Political and Cultural Day, Law Day, listening to what the troops have to say, and explaining things to them.

In 2024, the Provincial Military Command successfully organized the Provincial Armed Forces and Youth and Student Mass Art Festival from the grassroots level to the Provincial Military Command level, with nearly 5,000 officers, soldiers, students, and pupils participating; coordinated with the Museum and the Military Region Cultural Center to organize a mobile exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory at Regiment 244; organized the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, attracting over 3,400 officers, soldiers, and people; organized visits for officers, soldiers, students, and people to the Provincial Military Command's Traditional House; and organized 16 film screenings for officers and soldiers of agencies and units in the armed forces…

In addition, units have invested in supplementing the system of cultural and sports facilities to meet the needs of officers and soldiers for cultural activities and enjoyment. To date, 16 out of 16 agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command have physical training areas that meet the standards prescribed by the Ministry of National Defense; 100% of units have reading rooms, common rooms, and legal libraries; and regularly invest in and purchase new books to improve the quality of the library; 100% of agencies and units from the company level upwards have televisions, speakers, karaoke players, and transistor radios to serve the activities, studies, and entertainment of officers and soldiers. The system of signs, billboards, and posters for propaganda and mobilization at the units has been renovated and arranged in the correct places; many flowerbeds and ornamental plants have been newly planted, cared for, and trimmed daily, creating a cool, clean, and tidy space for soldiers to live, work, and train.

With attentive leadership and diverse approaches tailored to practical realities, the Party Committees and commanders of military agencies and units in the province have made a practical contribution to improving the material and spiritual lives of the soldiers. This has helped officers and soldiers feel secure in their training, dedication, and successful completion of assigned tasks, contributing to the building of strong, exemplary, and comprehensively strong units.
