TPO - On the afternoon of October 20th, at the Presidential Palace, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Doan Anh was presented with a decision by General Secretary and President To Lam to promote him from Lieutenant General to General.

General Nguyen Doan Anh was born in 1967; his hometown is An Thuong commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi city; he joined the Party in April 1987. His political theory level is advanced. His professional qualifications include a university degree in Combined Arms Command and Staff; and an advanced degree in Military Science.

During his career, from 2011 to 2021, he served as Deputy Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command; Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command; Commander of Military Region 4; and a member of the 14th National Assembly. In June 2019, he was promoted to Lieutenant General.

On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh was elected as a member of the 13th Central Committee of the Party for the 2021-2026 term.

From November 2022 to the present, he has held the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

On October 20, 2024, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Doan Anh was promoted to the rank of General by the General Secretary and President To Lam.
