Chatbot Q&A about E10 gasoline

From June 1st, E10 bioethanol fuel will be officially implemented nationwide according to the roadmap outlined in Circular 50/2025/TT-BCT issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. As this is its first time being widely applied, E10 is receiving considerable attention.

To help people learn about E10 bioethanol, on June 1st, the Ministry of Industry and Trade officially launched a Q&A chatbot on the Ministry's electronic portal and the Industry and Trade Newspaper. This tool was built from a database of hundreds of compiled and reviewed questions and answers.

Through this platform, people can look up information on topics of interest such as the characteristics of E10 gasoline, suitable vehicle types, usage instructions, fuel consumption, and the transition roadmap. When a question is received, the chatbot will compare it with the existing database to provide the most relevant answer.

The system simultaneously suggests related topics, providing quick access to compiled and verified information, instead of having to search from multiple sources. For questions not yet in the database, the chatbot will record them so the editorial team can update the content in the future, rather than automatically generating answers. This approach aims to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information provided.

The chatbot can now be used on both computers and smartphones through the online newspaper of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Industry and Trade's electronic portal at moit.gov.vn.

The system was developed by the Digital Transformation and Innovation Task Force of the Industry and Trade Newspaper (Task Force 57). The agency's website states that this is one of the first efforts to apply digital technology to help people access and search for information more quickly and conveniently.

Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade released a handbook on the use of E10 bioethanol fuel, providing information on its benefits, usage, and precautions for consumers. Following that, the agency also launched 85 frequently asked questions and answers about E10 fuel, and most recently, a chatbot tool for information lookup.

E10 contains 10% bioethanol and 90% mineral gasoline. The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that the transition is part of a strategy to promote the use of renewable energy, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and cut greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050.

The use of biofuels in Vietnam has been a priority since early times. In 2012, the Prime Minister issued Decision 53/2012/QD-TTg, stipulating the roadmap for blending biofuels with traditional fuels.
