At about 9:00 p.m. on February 2, 2025, a fire broke out at Cang Cua Hill, Zone 20, Van Xuan Commune, Tam Nong District. Immediately after the fire broke out, the District People's Committee mobilized 150 people including police forces, Military Command, Van Xuan, Tho Van, and Lam Son communes to participate in fire fighting.

By about 22:15, the fires were completely extinguished. Preliminary estimates show that the 2 hectares of production forest were planted with acacia trees regenerated after 3 years of exploitation, acacia trees planted in 2017, and eucalyptus shoots.
Currently, Tam Nong district is coordinating with functional agencies and local authorities to investigate and clarify the cause for handling according to the provisions of law.
