(HNMO) - At approximately 7:55 AM on May 23rd, a fire broke out in a row of warehouses at the Den Lu wholesale market on Tan Mai Street, Hoang Mai District ( Hanoi ).
Initial reports indicate the fire originated in a warehouse storing fruit and quickly spread to the surrounding area.
At the time of the fire, the flames spread to a warehouse storing foam mattresses, causing smoke and flames to rise high. In addition, the large area of the fire combined with strong winds caused the flames to intensify, spreading to two surrounding houses, with thick black smoke billowing into the air.
Upon receiving the report, the Hoang Mai District Police dispatched 3 vehicles and dozens of officers, while the Hai Ba Trung and Thanh Xuan District Police also quickly deployed vehicles to assist in extinguishing the fire.
By 9:00 AM the same day, the fire had been brought under control and extinguished. Initial reports indicate that the fire caused no casualties.
Currently, authorities are working to extinguish the remaining embers, prevent the fire from spreading, and investigate the cause of the incident.
