Lonely Planet suggests 10 'dream' days starting from Hanoi

Travel guide schedules 10 days to explore Hanoi and neighboring provinces as a "dream" experience when traveling to Asia in 2025.

Lonely Planet, a famous travel publication, introduces Hanoi as a city timeless, combining both rustic, quiet and vibrant features, is the starting point for a 10-day journey to discover the beauty of Vietnam.

During the first two days in Hanoi, visitors will spend time visiting temples, museums, monuments and visiting President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum.

On the third day, we will board a bus from Hanoi to Bai Chay, the departure point of the cruises on the island. Ha Long Bay. The three-hour cruise takes visitors to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lonely Planet suggests taking a two-day, one-night cruise, stopping at Ti Top Island to climb to the top of the mountain and admire and take pictures of Ha Long Bay from above.

After visiting Ha Long Bay, visitors return to Hanoi and take the night train to Lao Cai. Arriving in Sa Pa the next morning, visitors will experience the fresh air and scenery of the Northwest mountains. During the two days in Sa Pa, visitors can choose to relax or challenge themselves by conquering Fansipan peak - "Roof of Indochina" 3,143 m high.

With the remaining three days, visitors can choose to continue exploring mountainous areas such as Ha Giang, which has rugged mountain passes and majestic mountain scenery. Ha Giang has ancient villages, traditional markets and can see buckwheat flower fields blooming at the end of the year.

If you love the combination of history and culture, you can travel by train - line Thong Nhat Railway - To the Central region, visit Hue city with its ancient relics. A tour of the royal tombs, pagodas and ancient architecture helps visitors understand more about Vietnamese culture.
