Mr. Tran Van Tuan (53 years old, residing in Lan Xa 5 area, Hoang Que ward) is a severely disabled person, living on social assistance, for many years living in a seriously degraded level 4 house, not ensuring safety during storms. At the end of September 2025, Mr. Tuan was officially moved to a new, spacious and sturdy house thanks to the joint support of 60 million VND from Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company through the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans. Mr. Tran Van Luc (Mr. Tuan's brother) emotionally shared: "We are very grateful for the care and support of benefactors and local authorities. Now, my brother has a safe place to live, our family is much more secure."
Accompanying the less fortunate is a commitment that Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company has maintained for many years. Representative of the unit, Mr. Duong Dinh Trung affirmed: "We always put social responsibility alongside production and business activities. Supporting people in difficult circumstances is not only sharing, but also a way for us to contribute to creating motivation to help them confidently move forward, rise up to escape poverty sustainably."
Another touching story is the case of Mr. Tran Duc Lam (63 years old, residing in Tran Hung Dao 4 area, Hong Gai ward). He was a soldier stationed at the Mong Cai border from 1979 to 1983. After being discharged from the army and returning to his hometown, Mr. Lam got married, but an incident occurred, his wife and children left him, leaving him alone. He also suffered a stroke and lived in a makeshift house with inadequate living conditions.
Sharing Mr. Lam's situation, the Fatherland Front Committee of Hong Gai Ward coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross to mobilize the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to support 70 million VND to build him a new house. Starting in June 2025, after 4 months of construction, the new house of 32m², meeting the "3 hard" standards, was completed, bringing Mr. Lam a new living space, safe, warm and full of hope.
In addition to being supported to build a house, Mr. Lam also received many practical gifts from organizations in the residential area, helping him gradually stabilize his life. Mr. Tran Duc Lam emotionally expressed: "I never dared to dream of having a house like this. Without everyone's help, I would probably live in the old house forever."

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hong Gai Ward, social security work and care for the disadvantaged are always top priorities in the local sustainable development strategy.
Stories like Mr. Tuan and Mr. Lam are not isolated. From 2021 to now, Quang Ninh has spent more than 4,278 billion VND on social security. Notably, 100% of families of meritorious people have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average standard of living in the locality; all social policy beneficiaries fully and promptly enjoy all regimes of the State and the province. This is a solid foundation, a lever to give strength to the disadvantaged to rise up, overcome difficulties, and build a new life.
Looking to the future, Quang Ninh continues to aim to develop a diverse, modern, flexible and inclusive social security system. The province prioritizes improving the quality of essential services such as healthcare, education , housing, etc. for vulnerable groups, while promoting a sustainable support model so that no one is left behind.
Each home built, each smile lit up by timely support is a vivid proof of a society full of love and sharing. In Quang Ninh, human love has become the strength, supporting the less fortunate, giving wings to revived faith and a more persistent and stronger motivation to rise up than ever before.
