Promote credit programs in priority areas

Data from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Region 2 branch shows that, as of the end of September 2025, total outstanding credit in Dong Nai province reached 577 trillion VND, an increase of 9.2% compared to the end of 2024. Although lower than the national growth rate, credit in the area has recovered after 2 consecutive months of decline, reflecting the effectiveness of monetary policy in supporting businesses.

Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 Branch Nguyen Duc Lenh shared: In the first 9 months of 2025, credit growth in Dong Nai continued to be closely linked to and effectively reflected the State Bank's monetary and interest rate policy mechanism in 2025 with the main tasks of supporting businesses and promoting economic growth. In particular, policy credit programs; agricultural and rural development loans; industrial park - export processing zone loans; social housing loans... continued to grow and were closely linked to the implementation of the State Bank's policy mechanism. The credit structure was reasonable, with short-term credit accounting for 62.6% of total outstanding loans and continuing to focus on the production and business sectors.

Many banks in the province focus on credit activities for production, business and priority sectors. At the same time, the customer structure is shifting towards continuing to promote retail credit, credit for small and medium enterprises, developing foreign-invested enterprises, consolidating large enterprise customers and enhancing green credit...

Deputy Director of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) Dong Nai branch, Tran Thi Hai Ha, shared: The branch promotes modern financial solutions, encourages green credit, supports clean and organic agricultural projects, etc. The branch synchronously implements priority credit policies. From small-scale farmers to high-tech agricultural enterprises, all have access to financial resources to expand production and build sustainable value chains.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 branch, lending activities for 5 priority sectors have also been promoted by many banks in the province. In particular, short-term loans in Vietnamese Dong with preferential interest rates for 5 sectors: small and medium enterprises; supporting industries; high-tech enterprises; exports and agriculture and rural areas as of early September 2025 reached about 24.8 trillion VND. These are short-term loans with low interest rates, creating very favorable conditions for enterprises to expand and develop production and business effectively, especially in sectors that are the driving force of economic growth.

Strengthening bank-business connections

Many experts believe that, in order to improve the efficiency of credit capital for production and business activities, the banking sector needs to strengthen coordination with relevant units to implement activities and programs connecting banks and enterprises in appropriate forms. Thereby, contributing to implementing solutions to remove difficulties, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to access capital with appropriate lending interest rates, and effectively access preferential loan packages.

Chairman of the Dong Nai Province Business Federation Dang Van Diem said: Currently, many enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, want to access credit programs and sources, especially preferential capital sources with suitable interest rates. Thereby, creating conditions for enterprises to maintain and develop production and business activities, invest in innovation of production lines and new production technologies.

Director of Vinahe Company Limited (in Phuoc Binh Ward, Dong Nai Province) Nguyen Hoang Dat shared: The company wants to access credit programs with preferential interest rates to invest in equipment for production activities, especially at the end of the year when production and business activities are in peak season. This is an important factor to help businesses improve productivity and business efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh added: Favorable factors for credit expansion and growth continue to be maintained. In particular, the operations of credit institutions in the area are stable, credit quality is guaranteed, bad debts are controlled and business results are maintained. This is an important factor for credit institutions in the province to continue to well implement the State Bank's policy mechanism and effectively expand credit growth, best meeting the capital and banking service needs of enterprises and the economy in the last months of the year. In particular, production, trade and service activities in the last months of the year often increase, which will be the driving force for economic growth and credit growth in Dong Nai province.
