Hoang Hoa Tham Commune: Improving the quality of income criteria

After operating a two-level local government, Hoang Hoa Tham commune has synchronously deployed solutions to improve the quality of income criteria in new rural construction, contributing to improving people's lives.

One of the important solutions that Hoang Hoa Tham commune focuses on implementing is maintaining and developing small-scale industries and services and attracting businesses to operate in the area. Accordingly, the commune encourages people to take advantage of transportation to develop small-scale industries and services; support production households to access preferential loans... Up to now, the whole commune has over 1,500 enterprises, small-scale industrial production facilities, over 2,500 business and trading households, creating jobs for over 8,000 local workers.

The sewing facility of Ms. Pham Thi Phuong's family in Tam Nong village was established in 2019. Currently, the facility is creating jobs for many disadvantaged workers in the locality. Ms. Pham Thi Phuong said: In the early days of establishment, there were many difficulties, but with the support of capital from the locality, I had more conditions to develop production. Up to now, on average, the workshop produces 1,500 - 2,000 products per month, creating jobs for 20 workers with an average income of 4 - 5 million VND/person/month.

Finding a job right in the locality, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai happily shared: Due to poor health, it was difficult for me to find a job at companies. The main income of the family comes from agricultural production, so life is difficult. Since Ms. Phuong's family's sewing facility was established, I have had a stable job and my quality of life has improved.

To promote economic development and increase income, the commune encourages people to promote the application of science and technology, and bring quality plant and animal varieties into production. Up to now, the whole commune has 50 hectares of fruit trees certified to meet VietGAP standards.

Effective conversion model of Mr. Vu Van Thiem's family, Hoang Hoa Tham commune.

Visiting the conversion model of Mr. Vu Van Thiem's family in Di Che village, we saw his determination to get rich. Mr. Thiem confided: In 2015, I started to implement the conversion. Determining that science and technology would create quality, competitive products to meet market demand, on the one hand, I actively participated in training classes and technology transfer organized by the locality, on the other hand, I researched information on websites. Thanks to that, I accumulated production experience and applied it effectively. Up to now, the family's converted area has reached 2 hectares, 100% of the production area follows VietGAP standards. From the converted area, on average, my family earns nearly 500 million VND per year.

Accompanying the locality to improve the quality of income criteria, associations and unions in the commune have guaranteed loans to members with local credit institutions, coordinated with specialized sectors to organize the transfer of science and technology, and vocational training for people. Since then, many members and farmers in the commune have boldly invested and expanded production. Many models have brought high economic efficiency. Up to now, the average income per capita has reached over 81 million VND/year; the poverty rate is 0.7%; the rate of workers with regular jobs is over 95%.

Comrade La Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa Tham commune, said: In the period of 2025 - 2030, the commune strives to achieve an average income of 280 million VND/year per hectare of cultivated land; average income per capita of 150 million VND/year. To achieve this goal, in the coming time, the commune will continue to promote the strengths of the locality, do a good job of propaganda and mobilization of people to apply scientific and technical advances in production; maintain, encourage the expansion and development of occupations and craft villages; pay attention to removing difficulties for businesses; create conditions for people to access preferential loans... to invest in production development and increase income.
